Learn to obey the laws of the land. The forests have been depleted. Water bodies destroyed. These are the causes of droughts in parts of the country.. Palm trees thrive well in areas which have evenly distributed rainfall annually. If things can improve, help stop mining in the water bodies and reafforestation of depleted forests. God help Ghana.

Concentrate on our strong industries and support the as much as we can afford to support them.
don't forget we are a developing country with limited financial resources, so lets invest them in sectors where we are strong and extend these sectors so Ghana can become strong on the world market

A different view is that the tax regime on imported crude palm oil should remain as status quo ante. The reason is that it comes in as RAW MATERIAL to supplement local production. The value addition in Ghana is another idustry with significant contribution to food security (as in refined vegetable cooking oil) and FMCG products like soap and margarine. Some of the industries involved are among the largest tax payers to the state! Make CPO importation more expensive and they will either close down or raise their prices and become uncompetitive compared to imported finished goods. The loser will be all of us including the small scale farmer-directly and indirectly! When we have intensified/extensified oil palm production and closed the gap between local supply and demand, then we can ask for IAT on crude palm oil. Let us think again”
