  Why do the courts make such a big issue of betting on cards? This activity is legal in most countries because no-one is harmed, it is a simple entertainment usually played between friends.

  Why do the courts make such a big issue of betting on cards? This activity is legal in most countries because no-one is harmed, it is a simple entertainment usually played between friends.
  
  What the police should do is confiscate the cards and issue a caution and the law needs amending to make it a small on the spot penalty notice of say 100 GHC fine, payable to the IRS.
  
  Wasting court time and imposing huge bail conditions is completely over the top and not at all in the public interest.
