They fill the airwaves with garbage and getting nothing for it! What is their beef if the president decides to travel with Madam Akua Donkor? What is constitutionally wrong with that?

You see, I admire this woman a lot, because she appears to be the only 2012 presidential candidate who is not filled with bitterness and malice. To her, rivalry is over once the election ended in favour of one of the contestants, Mahama. To her, it's time to support the winner to develop the nation. It's time for comradeship, togetherness, goodwill, peace and harmony. Those agitated have not shown they are wise. Madam Akua Donkor is enjoying today because she is wiser than all the other 2012 presidential contestants.

And who is Avle? Poeple like him sit behind the microphones and run programmes in favour of the opposition. That is their choice, but they should stop poisoning the atmosphere with garbage. The book long people who can speak impeccably the whiteman's English in opposition are suffering. Akua Donkor eee!!!!!

My questions to Mahama and the NDC boneheads are these: (1) What the heck does this woman bring to the table for national discussions, analysis, planning, etc., that the NDC so blatantly embrace her? (2) Is she bringing on board some voters for the NDC in 2016? Or (3) Is somebody in the NDC hierarchy “bonking this woman?” Damn it, Negroes. What are you doing with her abroad??

She may be good with our Akan language, but whether or not we like it, ENGLISH is the official language used in Ghana and this woman, like my late mother, is clueless—but my mom never put her nose where it didn't belong as this ugly face is doing!!

How many of our educated Professors make meaningful contribution to the country apart from stealing from the goernment and just criticizing the government on the media.
Some of the critics of the woman do so for political reasons and not in the interest of the country. I bet you that if Mahama had gone with a Sheabutter farmer from the North, that would have been "another coffee in Brazil." If Maame Donkor said that Ghana's economy has been bad since the time of Nkrumah, is it not true? Only the young ones do not know. In 1964, Ghana had become "hard." People had to queue for essential commodities like Milk, Sugar and soap. He carried Ghana's "Begging cup" in 1964 to the Western world for a loan. The Eastern Block was facing the effects of Socialism, communism and the arms race that characterized the cold war. The NLC did not solve the economic woes of Ghana. Busia did not stay for long. Acheampong carried out some developments but the economy did not improve. Even common air mail letter card could only be got at Makola. Akuffo came to continue the rot. Papa Jerry tried to clean the mess but he also finally became corrupt. Kuffour came for his own and that of his relatives too. Mills was a weakling and not his own man. People therefore took advantage of him. Mahama too has not been too smart and there is corruption everywhere. Unemployment is high, and Dumsor everywhere. People think Akuffo Addo will be the messiah but let us wait and see what he can also do if voted for. So, Maame Donkor's statement about the economy never being good since the time of Nkrumahis true.
Also, Ghanaians should understand that it is not the much school that one attends that makes the one intelligent. Ndewura Jakpa, Osei Tutu, Tohajie were all able leaders but never stepped into school. George Washington was a carpenter but they all did well. We foolishly cherish "Big" but empty titles. Joe Biden has a Phd Degree but is addressed as Mr. Do that to a Ghanaian and you will see insults that will follow. Our corrupt and ignorant politicians are addressed as honorables. What is honorable about them. Yes, in Ghana, people want to be called Nana, Nii, Togbe, Nene etc even when they are not royal. Many of those who are royal are undescribably corrupt, engaged in galamsey,illegal logging and double sale of lands to builders. I just want people to name me five well educated Ghanaians who have contributed very meaningfully to Ghana's economy and I will also tell you many Ghanaians who never attended much school but were/are great interpreneurs in the country.
Let us criticize constructively and stop the partisan nonsense.

Yet,over fifty years of independence, these "learned" folks have not done anything transformational,to improve the lives of the masses.Rather,they specialize in corruption,thievery, cronyism,tribalism and as neocolonial agents. Just yesterday,President Buhari of Nigeria,asked President Obama for help in locating $150 billion stolen from the Nigerian treasury in the last ten years.

Madam Akua Donkor is a citizen,a successful farmer,a TAXPAYER - and though not formally educated,has NYANSA,WISDOM and a perpective representing a large segment of the population - that will benefit the President and the country.

The President can take along anybody he likes on visits abroad.The people don't have to be always chiefs,BIG MEN/WOMEN with overblown credentials. Infact,it was rumored last year that Mahama allowed the Asantehene to use the Presidential plane on a private visit to London.Did Koku-Avle complain and behave like a fool,as he did during the discussion?

Formal education is important,but as African political elites have shown over the last fifty year,a dose of unvarnished and "home grown" NYANSA and WISDOM seems necessary - to bring some imput,sanity and color into the political space.

Here is a woman who has devoted her energy in producing food to feed the nation and at least we won't be spending scarce foreign exchange importing the amount of food she produces annually. The purpose of this trip was for her to experience how value can be added to some of the commodities we produce in the country. She was at an agric exposition which falls within her expertise andher being on the govt entourage was to give dignity to our gallant farmers and what is wrong with that?

Ghanaians are interesting. Most Ghanaians take education to mean wisdom & intelligence. For 58 years now, the so-called educated & for that matter, 'the wise' have ruled this nation & messed it up.
Professors, Doctors, etc all over, yet we continue to retrogress at a rate faster, effortlessly & seamlessly than can imagine. To me the downfall of Ghana is as a result, & caused by the so-called educated.
Most of the critics of Akua Donkor have contributed far less to the Ghanaian economy. But to them (Being Educated), they think they are the movers of the economy because they can speak & write English.
For Christ sake, Akua Donkor is a Prominent Cocoa Farmer. Her contribution to the Ghanaian economy far surpasses most of these so-called Educated ("The Wise").
If you think you are well educated, use it to develop the country. The question is:
How many Educated Ghanaians are cocoa Farmers?
What is the contribution of Cocoa farmers to the Economy of Ghana?
Why do we, in Ghana equate intelligence & wisdom to education?
And if intelligence & wisdom are equated to being educated, then why is Ghana retrogressing so fast. Are they not the educated who ruled & are still ruling the country?
I think the educated should do away with these pomposity & false impression that they (The Educated) are better in society than the uneducated.
So let's cultivate the habit that allows us gather & collate all ideas irrespective of where they are coming from (whether from the Educated or the Uneducated) & use them for our own benefit.
Never rely entirely on the so-called Educated. It can be very Dangerous!!

There is absolutely no sound reason why the dignity of a human being can be rubbished just because she did not go to school. To equate illiteracy to stupidity smacks of ignorance. Madam Akosua Donkor deserves all the rights available in our constitution. She has freedom to associate herself with anyone she wants to. She is free to travel to wherever she wants to travel to.
It beats my imagination what type of persons Bernard Avle expects to see at an agric show. Ignorant as he is, Bernard Avle is not aware of the agric credentials of Madam Akosua Donkor. Of course, Bernard Avle is also unaware of how Madam Akosua Donkor travelled to Italy. The only reason he despised the poor woman is that she is illiterate.
If Bernard Avle thinks only people who hold chain of degrees deserve respect, then he is a tiny little mind. My advice to Bernard is that he should humbly apologize to both the President and Madam Akosua Donkor. Spiritually, he has committed a blunder that will ditch him if he does not repent.

Many a time, very serious and important issues are raised and debated upon, which arouses other peoples interest to see something done about it, but never to be. Big time frustration here. For some reason, the political leaders seem to know that we can only 'TALK' and do NOTHING. It is about time we followed up important issues and HOLD perpetrators responsible. We are being taken for a ride by this government. I have this strong urge that, come close to election time, this government will try to soften things up only for the election to be over and then back to hardship. THIS GOVERNMENT CANNOT BE TRUSTED. I said Mahama should be charged for causing financial loss to the nation because Akua Donkor is NOBODY. She is not fit for anything and I wonder what Mahama see in her that she is all over the place. Sometimes I have been blaming the media for making her who she is now and not only Mahama and NDC. This is woman who has never step at the door of a school before, cannot read nor write ( I wonder whether she can even write her name), and I will not be surprised if she is even carrying a diplomatic passport, yet she is being pampered by NDC government, for what? What benefit is she to the nation? When we have over 200,000 unemployed graduates with knowledge to move this nation forward and yet roaming the streets in search of non-existing jobs and NDC is just making FOOL OF THEMSELVES in pampering this ILLITERATE OF A WOMAN. I always say, she should be ashamed of herself for even associating herself in the role she finds herself now. I wonder whether she is married and have children; and if so why are not calling her attention to the DISGRACE she is putting up for herself, the family and the nation. She does not even understand anything said when the President visited the stands because she is an ILLITERATE. It is really annoying to hear this woman saying she advises the President and he the President takes her advice. What advice? Ghana is now a nation of jokers brought about by NDC's incompetence. No wonder this nation is now in the drain. Ghanaians wake up because NDC is taking us for granted. Let us help bring nation back to where it belongs while NDC as a party is extinguished by coming together of CPP; after all, the bulk of NDC members are made up of CPP followers. Have we pondered to ask ourselves: if Akua Donkor didn't deserve to be part of the delegation, what benefits did Ghana derive from having the other members? You don't need to speak English to communicate in Italy as a member of a foreign delegate. Interpreters are always assigned to cover international meetings. The tomato factory officials possibly didn't even speak in English. If we have a problem with Akua Donkor traveling with the President, we need to have a better argument than just saying that she's "illiterate. " She's been elected before to represent her constituency, and she's a leader and presidential candidate of a party. Our constitution does not stipulate any level of formal education to attain in order to be in government.

There are many illerate who will follow whatever she she and that is great news. Governance is all about common sense and not book law. The book helps however it is common sense that prevails at the end of the day.

I have said several times on this forum that,if the late Steve Jobs(may his Soul rest in peace) and Bill Gates were Ghanaians, the World would not have had innovation in the form on Computer and Telecommunications.
No one would ever listen to them talked about their findings in Ghana.
