Ofcourse people working in sensitive areas need to be barred from contesting political positions. To say all civil servants cannot contest is just foolish. Is the President not a civil servant?

I'm surprised as a lawyer he didn't know that only civil servants are barred from holding political office while still in office.
He should check with his colleagues ...

Politics is not for the poor, it is for rich people. When people resign their jobs to seek greener pasture in politics, they end up stealing. They also would not want to quit when their term is over because they have no job to return to. Such will employ all kinds of means to hold on to power, including INSULTS, VIOLENCE, DIVIDING ELECTORATES (TRIBAL DISCRIMINATION) ETC. We must therefore discourage people like these from going into politics.
