Busia did not say that he was going to stay in power indefinitely as Nkrumah did, and he did not declare Ghana as a one-party state either. In fact, he was given a 5year mandate to deliver for Ghanaians to judge whether to extend his mandate or elect a different leader. But the communist relics that were still hiding in our midst got panicked and overthrew him prematurely for fear of his progressive achievements. Truly, the man knew exactly what he was coming to do to alleviate the suffering of his people through an alternative mode of development different from that of his predecessor. He hit the ground running from the first day in office.
On the other hand, Nkrumah had been in power for sixteen years and turned himself into a president for life when he realized that his popularity had waned. In the sixties after he had squandered the huge reserve, the country started to go down the hill and Ghanaians visibly yearned for a change. But since Nkrumah shut all the doors and channels that could have been used to exercise their political will of changing him democratically through the ballot box, they had no option other than to force him out through a military coup. Therefore, the coup that removed Kwame Nkrumah from office was the only legitimate coup in the history of Ghana.

Belgium is a country with no cocoa tree, but had adopted everything that is related to Ghana and built a chocolate industry that has more wealth than Ghana as a country.
Cote d'Ore means gold coast, and the emblem the "elephant" of the company also was the gold coast colonial emblem.
Cote d'ore ran a successful chocolate industry and by the time we visited Belgium in 1984, they were moving in to a more modern and far larger factory away from the old one by the galery d'midi train station. Cote d'ore took everything that the Gold Coast represented and turned it into GOLD.
Now back to the original Gold coast or Cote d'Ore which grows the cocoa that feeds the FAKE Cote d'Ore its main raw material.
Now if COCOBOD has half the brain of Belgians which most Europeans believed are not the brightest of all the europeans can import cocoa from Ghana, and create wealth out of it that we can only dream of, then something is wrong upstairs of the body that runs it.
COCOBOD COULD NOT expand on the chocolate factory that we currently have let alone build a modern one. COCOBOD's headquarters in Accra looks like a village mansion in the north than in the city. IT IS OLD AND UGLY BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN NOTHING TO THESE UNCIVILIZED PEOPLE RUNNING IT SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY THINK THRY'RE EDUCATED. But to be educated and also to be innovative with an engineering skill to take valueless stuff and turns into something of a value is two different thing and this unfortunately we do not have but the backward Belgians have.
The people who run COCOBOD lack foresight, ingenuity and the engineering skills to move beyond their traditional mandate of exporting cocoa. These mafias would not welcome NO new ideas to move away from their comfort zone to do what even BACKWARD BELGIANS could do with cocoa.
Every government in Ghana fears them. They cook the books and hold government to ransom as they're government to themselves. They're ready to sabotage the economy if pressure is applied to them to be innovative.
Every under performing leadership of this corrupt entity KNOWS IT ALL but the truth as presented vis a vis with their counterpart in far away Belgium where no single cocoa tree could grow points to the fact that the handlers of cocoa in the former Gold Coast are clueless and brainless.
Hershy of Pennsylvania, Cadbury of UK, Nestle of Switzerland and Cote 'Ore of Belgium all individually got more wealth and per annum make more income than Ghana from cocoa related products.
Why?
Don't we have eyes to see how they're doing it and brains to think no more?
