being born in another country does not automatically make you a citizen of that nation, bearing in mind that nations do not throw away citizenship on any person: people apply for citizenship.

being born in another country does not automatically make you a citizen of that nation, bearing in mind that nations do not throw away citizenship on any person: people apply for citizenship.

So the fact that she was born in Nigeria does not make her automatically Nigerian. If she did not apply for Nigerian citizenship, she is a Ghanaian. Even if she was once a Nigerian, she could still denounce her Nigerian citizenship and be a Ghanaian.

The ONLY thing that would disqualify her is if she still HOLDS Nigerian citizenship. If yes, then you have a cause to grumble.
