If the true must be told, NPP could not get a proper Lawyer to pursue a case levelled against Societ General, the financial institution which was meant to advise Ghana on it's hedge fund finances. Npp then intentionally over-looked it and took the short cut by accepting debt which they had the drill ship in mind to sell to Pocket a huge chunk of it and Pay Societ General the rest.

Daily Guide should stop this toilet reportage and come out with the Picture.

My worry is that Ghanaians and in particular NDC and NPP parties are too partisan even in matters of natural justice. If the shoe is on another foot it is okay. The Commissioner indicted several people and it was okay for NPP supporters including Kweku Baako the adopted NPP child. Now Nana Addo is indicted heaven has broken loose. If the report is unworthy then all those indicted must be left free and not only Akkuffo Addo. This selective condemnation is what makes the fight against corruption impossible in this country. Let`s face it, how can you honestly make an argument that you were in serious negotiations with a view to reaching an 'amicable' out- of-court settlement with a party[a win-win situation], then strangely let down your guard, and have them go behind your back[I don`t even accept Jsc. Appau`s charitable characterization of what really transpired], to secure a default judgement against your side in a London High Court?
Can Nana Addo, or any of his surrogates, seriously maintain that, he or the officials in his dept., were unaware of the suit that was pending at the High Court kin in London? Btw, who dismissed the previous external GNPC lawyers[from the Bindeman Group], who were handling the case, and why?
If I may ask, did Nana Addo this kind of nonchalant posture in his private financial dealings with this same bank, some years after it had stiffed us 'royally'?
Do you believe Kweku Baako and company, who have strenuously pushed this 'crazy' line that the GNPC had no tenable case against S.G; and that the corporation did owe the bank?
In that case, why was the bank[S.G] not prepared to furnish the court with vital documents pointing to the duplicity in its dealings with GNPC?
And if I may ask, why did SG officials at their corporate hqtrs. in France, still refuse to make these papers available, to assist the JDC, n its work?
In short, I do not believe Nana Addo, and or his officials, have any plausible arguments to make, to exculpate them in this shady affair!
So let him proceed to court, and open a whole new can of worms, at his political and professional peril!

The fact here however is that by the 1992 Constitution of Ghana no one can be prosecuted over the findings of a Commission, reference to the matter the state and Dr. Yevis Worreku-Brobbey. Meaning that a person can not also take the findings of a commission to court, unlike the findings of agencies like the Commission on Human Rights Administrative Justice.

In my personal view, the reaction from the group show how cheap they are politically. Why should the NDC strong man Nkansah be called to order of his genuine and realistic statement about the people of the Ashanti region?The Ashantes want to tell Ghanaians that what the bold and strong man Nkansah said was a lie. Their contribution to Development since independence have nothing good to show apart from trying to prove to the nation that they are the superior beings.

No tribal community including those of their own ethnic landscape ever have anything good to share about these people, apart from the fact that they are a bunch of thiefs, selfish and retarded idiots.

They also tried, and are always trying to marginalise other tribal groups in their own Akan Ethnic group. ( eg; the ones in BA and E Regions).. no sense of integration and team work at all.

When it comes to being real, its these Ashantis that are not intelligent, diligent or sociable than any tribal or ethnic community in Ghana. They are just a bunch of arogant and selfish idiots who thinks everything should go their way.

These group of people should start changing their ways before its too late for all of us. Because their lame and unsorted attitudes don't just affect themselves but all of us.

Its time that we all stand up and tell these bunch of useless hypocrites to sit the fuck down.

The deal was for Justice Appau to indict Akuffo Addo to derail his presidential ambition in return for a Justice Appau promotion to the Supreme Court. What a day of scandal and ignominy for our judicial system and the presidency! How is a person indicted without sufficient evidence to prove his culpability and an invitation to prove his innocence or otherwise? Neither the Presidency nor a seat on the Supreme Court bench is for sale. If President Mahama and Justice Appau would not lift up the flag of Ghana they must neither drag the same flag in the mud.

This case is not as simple as that, although Justice Apau's silence on Tsatsu who gambled with state money and lost that much money, is troubling.

Nana as the Chief Legal Adviser of the state took on the case, dismissed GNPC's lawyers and for some strange reason, did not bother to even instruct a lawyer from the Ghana High Commission to stand in for the state.

According to KT's own submission, it was after Societe Generale had obtained the default judgement that he was sent to London to negotiate with SG.

In the run-up to the judgement, GNPC and SG had come to a stalemate in their out of court settlement. SG was asking for $14m, while GNPC was offering $12m, but when SG obtained the default judgement, they decided they were no more interested in the settlement and wanted their pound of flesh of $47m!

It will be interesting to see how the case rolls out in court!

The best way to look at the Sole Commissioner's report is through the eyes of the people in the Kufuor administration who brought a claim of causing financial loss against Tsatsu Tsikata. If Tsikata could be held liable for those losses as head of the GNPC then why is it out of the norm for the head of the AG office, Nana Akufo-Addo, to be held personally and criminally negligent for the failure of his office to mount a vigorous defense on during arbitration proceedings?

Why must Ghana continue to use a contracted London-based law firm to defend Ghana? Why must the AG, Nana Akufo-Addo, and his staff shirk their solemn duty to defend the nation at all levels? Why have the many nickel and dime lawyers in Ghana flood the court system with frivolous cases to make money off Ghana’s poor if they cannot play with the big boys on the international stage?

NPP should wait and see if the NDC administration has the balls to bring a case against Nana Akufo-Addo or laugh at the administration all the way to the 2016 campaign if they fail to do so.
