BECE leaks because parents perceive only a few of the over 600 secondary schools in the country like PRESEC-legon, Abuakwa State College, Wesley Girls (C/R), Mfantsipim, Aburi Girls, St Roses, Tema Secondary, Achimota to be good. Furthermore, they perceive that some schools cheat so they've gotta level the playing field. With increasing population entrance to these few secondary schools (high schools) has become most competitive. Parents and Schools contribute money to solve this problem.

When the economic hardship hit countries of the Far East some years ago, it was the gold held by individual citizenry in the form of jewelry, coins and bars that was used to shore up their currency/economy. Sadly we are allowing foreigners to Cary away this all important resource while we import cheap plated jewelry. Today the major portion of the jewels worn by our Chiefs is not gold but plated brass and the like.. The royal jewelry that once epitomised the purity of our material culture is now corrupted to the value of brass! No wonder Ghana is sinking!
