Mahama should've waited for the Supreme Court's verdict on the matter before appointing the new EC boss. He should not have panicked because he felt the SC might decide against his appointment of the EC boss, which is a possibility. Those who are against his appointment of the EC boss have valid and concrete points; since the president is also a political player, he should not be allowed to appoint the referee. The constitution cannot and does not seek to give undue advantage to one political player against all the others.

In the abundance of water the fool is thirsty. Isn't it ironic. The meteo service predicts more rains in Accra this weekend.

The VRA & government must stop the lies. The problem lies with the turbines which are defect for years. The dam is fixed with 6 turbines, out of which only 2 are mechanically stable to generate energy 24 X 7. 2 can only generate energy for not more than 10 hours a day, and the last 2 are totaly defect, that is the stand of Akosombo Dam and not water level.

You are right Steve. I do not think it is water level problem. Do not create unnecessary panic. It has been raining. Address the other technical issues.

Do not sit in your comfort zone in Accra or aburokyire somewhere and spew garbage with the view to deceive people. Just take a trip up north to see the sorry state of the Black and White Volta which are supposed to feed the Volta Lake where the dam is located. You can literary stroll across it. It is dried up. Low rainfall up there and also neglect by authorities since Adam to protect these tributaries. Trees should have been planted to give cover, human activities like farming, etc should have restricted along the banks. It can rain everyday of the year at Akosombo areas and cause whatever flooding, but it will not get the dam full.

How could Akosombo water level sink in this raining period of the calendar when rain is causing hazards every where?
Are we really facing some kind of engineering joke or a curse or simply lack of knowledge to contain the needy water in the mist of plenty or the gods of the land seriously angry with the type of leadership that they make everything Ghana go wrong?
We need national prayers. Lord have mercy, Amen!

Just take a trip up north. The boundary between Brong Ahafo and Northern Regions is the Black Volta and a Buipe, there is a toll bridge, you will see the sorry state of what is supposed to be supplying water to the Volta lake. Continue to Yapei on the same road as you head towards Tamale and you will come across the White Volta also another tributary in a very sorry state. So the real facts as someone has already stated are that, no matter the rainfall down south, the water level at Akosombo will not rise.

We continue to export cocoa instead of value-added products and we still expect the cedi to appreciate. Why are still interested in exporting raw materials? What lessons does the Global Village offer us? Everything in the raw state and yet we have people with all the ....... and would kick against initiatives made by people like Safo Kantanka because he is not their class. Support people like this and see the employment you create that leads to wealth creation.
