Why did the TUC boss agree to give MPs 200% pay raise, with 3-year back pay, huge ESBs for Art.71 officials? Fools. Now they are begging for dash.

I don't get why there is so much inflation for the common things in Ghana, it's like people selling food items think they can get away with increasing the cost of buying Yam and whatever food substance because of the cost of fuel.
I think there are too many oportunists in the system using the depreciation of the cedis to inflate the costs of their own products (especially ones where importation is limited and fuel costs cannot be justified as a reason to increase).
Something has to give.
Government needs to get costs under control and streamline the public sector wages. Pension off those over a certain age and make capital and IT investments and human investments (by employing the young/graduates).
There is no short term fix to this mess. Ghana needs to lay the foundations from which a recovery can happen, but not with this useless government in charge.
