KNUST failed to rusticate and report to the police a female student who beat up her roommate; the lecturers have been bought. It has been said that many lecturers lack teaching methodologies. What should be the minimum requirement in recruiting lecturers into a tertiary institution? Is it a masters degree or a PhD with a course in education??

Professors in tertiary institutions must read GES directives. There are many important and useful GES directives which would help them.

GES banned all forms of corporal punishment in Educational institutions but there are reports that some tertiary institutions are still carrying out this practice. Asking students to kneel down and so on.

Lecturers in tertiary institutions must recognize the fact that students in these institution are adults.

tunga, let me ask u does dr appiah or prof okai fits into ya tribal issue, which of the rectors does, if not , why.? its a shame u call yaself a christian yet unevolved and opt to rather conform to the backward and primitive tribal thinking... you ought to know the prof dzisi was not only there from the inception of the of the polytechnic( stands to be corrected anyway) but equally qualified to hold that position yet here you are stepping into the filth of tribal politics....leave prof dzisi alone as this is her time and when her time is up u can then apply to become the rector...eh....''be biara eye tribal, are u correct..tunga..?)

Koforidua Polytechnic is 18 years and has seen tremendous development in infrastructure and staff capacities under the able leadership of 4 rectors. The same cannot be said of Wa Polytechnic which is 2 years younger. the council chairman and current rector have hijacked the system thus preventing growth and development whilst the president, MPs and Ministers look unconcerned.
