You are repeating exactly what Rawlings and his "let the blood flow" misguided, inexperienced youth of this country said years ago. They claimed that our older leaders had failed and they took over the country in the 80s and mismanaged it for 20years. The result was a Cuban-style communist dictatorship, economic mismanagement, Rawlings' Chain" and abject poverty.

Those revolutionary youth who were wearing tire sandals and condemned market women to death for petty profiteering, are now billionaires enjoying power and money fraudulently. Throughout the period when Ghana was called "ojah krom", they perpetuated their rule through the gun and electoral malpractices. Unfortunately, they are the ones overseeing the sinking of this country today and they will do everything in their power to rig the elections and continue their mediocre rule, despite the fact that Ghanaians want them out.

Believe me; suggesting that the "youth" should take over the running of this country again will not fly.

I have said this time and time again that Ghanainas and for that matter Africans need a benevolent dictator in her first phase of development who possess oasis of pratical ideas but rules with an IRON FIST in VELVET GLOVES. Frankly, we are strictly speaking lawless and most unprincipled people who need to be guided by the strict rule of law.

Our coat of arms reads -Freedom and Justice - however, we have too much FREEDOM and less JUSTICE because the law is not enforced. The people in Ghana/Africa create self-inflicted problems and point fingers at others. The Kind of things people in Ghana/Africa get away with is not tolerated in any of the democrate states in in the West be it Europe or America.

I might not agree with Nunoo on everything but thumbs up for this one mate. Call us old school but a whole society in Ghana/Africa are growing up without orientation, discipline and order. That is going to have grave consequences on the whole Society if not checked.

Ghanaians/Africans must be real and stop watching too much Hollywood and Nollywood crap. It is all smoke and mirrors. There is no cutting corners to riches; there is something called luck and it is a whole lot of working.

We are all in this together so let us pull up our sleeves and work hard that is the answer. The people in the developed countries work hard which is why they are called industrial nations for they are industrous - hard working people. Since we cannot reinvent the wheel, let us live to learn. We must return to the traditional virtues of life like Discipline, Honesty, Prudence, Humility, Diligence, Temperance etc.

We need a country where the people will think of being a ghanaian first and whatever one's tribe second and not the other way around. Too much lawlessness in the country and all is atributed to Rawlings who speaks from one side of his mouth while he did the opposite. How can you messed up the education system in the country and takes your children overseas to educate them? How can you constificate people's property and industries genuinely acquired and turned around and give it to your wife and political cronies? In other words he did exactly what he accused others of doing and because of him and his PNDC/NDC the nation has being on a reverse gear for all those years they have been in power.

Even they put "koko" and all other kinds of food in satchet bags. It is really dangerous when they use these satchet bags for hot foods which makes it easy for harzadous chemicals in these bags to seep into the foods and water.

As a matter of fact, the use of rubber bags should be brought to the barrest minimum and should not be used as food containers.

Every town, village and hamlet in Gonjaland has received a facelift with new facilities such as roads, toilet facilities, markets, mosques, good quality water projects, electricity extension projects, etc. The question is did J. J. Rawlings do the same thing to Voltarians when he was in power for twenty years? What about Atta Mills. The good old Prof was in power for three and a half years yet he was not selfish to only concentrate on his people in Ekumfi Etuam and the central Region but rather his whole thought was for the general good. No wonder under the care of Prez Mills, Ghana achieved a growth rate of 11%, single digit inflation and the smooth implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy where newly recruited police personnel received the nominal equivalence of 500dollars as monthly salary. Compare these achievements to the nepotism and selfish policies of the Mahama government that has crippled the Ghanaian economy. Democracy isn't good for lawless blacks anywhere in this world because the savage in us needs nothing else. The stupidity in us is so colossal nothing will work if someone isn't there with the long cane/whip in hand. NO, it will NEVER work. So, what appellation is good for someone who can't function without lashes behind? An idiot, a less than donkey! That is what we are.

We have lost credibility since the dawn of time, and when the black man is mocked at, he fumes, gets enraged and snarls at those making the mockery, yet we mulishly won't change.

This is the reason I will always blame JJ Rawlings for throwing away the unique chance he had to turn the country in the right path. He shouldn't have caved in for democracy at all until he is done slapping the hell out of Ghanaians.

On the other hand, we have our stupid heads to blame for crying for democracy when the West was foisting it on us.

With so many armed robbery, banks stealing their clients money, Western Union Offices and banks stealing money send from abroad and virtually everything going down, we will soon begin crying our eyes out for the country we all lost.

Today, everyone wants to be a politicians because it is easy to get in and steal and be rich in just six months.

The problem is NOT Mahama, the problem is the Ghanaian bandit-mentality. Ivory Coast in on track to be the best country in the subregion and Senegal is currently stealing the top spot with the former president's son and other government officials still in jail for embezzlement and abuse of power.

Stop blaming Mahama, we are all involved, though personally, I will never be corrupt in my whole life.

Bridadier General Nunoo Mensah sometimes talks sence but the positioning of his ideas make people to convulse and suspect that there are clindestine moves by the military to stage a come back further to destroy the democratic credentials so far achieved by Ghana as a Nation.It is sad to note that in Ghana most of the Parties fight tooth and nail to come to power,but failed to deliver some of such core duties as educating the masses with regards to behavoral down turn of their daily lives.I take this opportunity to use Germany as a typical example of cleaning their state,which did not happen by chance,it had taken the Government and its stakeholders some time to rise to the standardard where the country is at the moment in terms of, in German language, sauberkeit,meaning cleaniness.They did not use their military power,but rather prvided refuse collection receptacles and cotainers at vantage points to the reach of both young and olds even babies who have been educated by their mothers not to throw waste papers and sachets about,which has become part and pacel of their lives.The military cannot rule Ghana for ever as being orchestrated by North Chorea which has turn the country into a Military base Government with a whole idea of preparing for war against its niebours at all the time.Ghana should unashamedly approach the German Embassy in Ghana on bilateral terms to learn from them the technical way to quell environmental degredation in our country.

I had a very hard father whose standard was more than a military person. He was inscripted into the army during those times because of his physique and strength. There were stories of his exploit when he was able to dispose of attackers on his life on several occasions and he was known by every older person in all places he lived.
I believe in discpline and I dare say that this country is rife for military administration.We are indisciplined people. The freedom has eaten deep into our minds and dont appreciate this should go with responsibility.
I hate the current state of this country and I wish the military come back.
The politicians will never do anything about the current state because they fear losing power. They love to make money than leaving this country in proper shape. And it appears this is what most people want. For some of us, whether this country do well or not, they care not but they call themselves patriotic.

My suggestion of cure is a long term one: Civic education right from the kindergarten through to the First year University. It is the revolution of the mindset that we need, and not a revolution of the gun and iron fist rule.
Let the Ministry of Education draw a curriculum for the first year in Kindergarten then each year teach our pupils, our students, and our graduates what each and every good citizen is suppose to do and stand for, and what is to be shunned.
Let there be adult mass education for the people. Education is the key.

In which country does the citizens pay taxes for keeping the public environment clean by the city authorities after they have kept their own private environment abutting the public space clean, and the gov't chops that money, the gov't chops those taxes, the gov't squanders those monies on frivolities, and asks the citizens to come and clean that public space, when they have paid taxes for the cleaning of that public space?
It is only in Nunoo Mensah's head and the John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't that thinks, they can chop the taxes of the state earmarked for maintaining and cleaning the public space and environment of filth and rubbish, and the citizens after doing their bit in cleaning their own private environment and space, should come and clean the public space as well, after they have paid taxes for just such an exercise by the city authorities.
There is clearly something fundamentally wrong with that kind of thinking and coming from Nunoo Mensah, it is not surprising at all. It is just sad, very, very sad. It is tragic to say the least, tragic and a grave unspeakable, unfathomable and very unfortunate statement that Ghanaians must be governed with iron fist. We dare say the John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't and Nunoo Mensah should just try it.

Mr. Nunno, I can understand your frustration of how transitionally Ghana is failing, but your solution of ruthless governing is not going to work and would lead to anarchy and confusion possibly a coup. Ghana has the able minded people, but greed, selfishness and furthermore the willful culture of corruption dependency shuts the door for better system of accountable governing. Corruption has become our culture that defines our current generation and everyone has somehow contributed big or small. Corruption has become our new symbol of welcome to the club and has spread to every fabric of our lives. It would rather require a gradual public education of pride and accountability to believe and only the truth can set us free. This must start from childhood education upward.

Childhood education upward would never be refused by any good person in any part of the world. The corruption and all that you see as wrong can only be put to an end by the realistic vision of the honorable Nunoo Mensah's description of the application of the iron fist.

Iron fist means law working without any compromise of nepotism, tribalism, political party mentality, of my village mentality, etc period.

Even if it calls for North Korea style we ought to be happy because we have cloth ourselves with the culture of stupid, wicked, selfish, greedy, cruel and foolish practices which are spoiling our own God created nation.
