Go and see how Prez Mahama of Ghana has transformed Gonjaland with Ghana money just within the two and half years that he has been in power. Every town, village and hamlet in Gonjaland has received a facelift with new facilities such as roads, toilet facilities, markets, mosques, good quality water projects, electricity extension projects, etc. The question is did J. J. Rawlings do the same thing to Voltarians when he was in power for twenty years? What about Atta Mills. The good old Prof was in power for three and a half years yet he was not selfish to only concentrate on his people in Ekumfi Etuam and the central Region but rather his whole thought was for the general good. No wonder under the care of Prez Mills, Ghana achieved a growth rate of 11%, single digit inflation and the smooth implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy where newly recruited police personnel received the nominal equivalence of 500dollars as monthly salary. Compare these achievements to the nepotism and selfish policies of the Mahama government that has crippled the Ghanaian economy. I really weep for Ewes and Fantis whose votes brought Mahama to power and yet are the hardest hit by the current hardship prevailing in the country.

Instead, Kwasia Bi has scammed so much that the logic of obroni sika and obroni contractor to clean gutter has not even surfaced. Ghana has recycling company so what are they doing? The machines are there like you said and yet aban doesn't want to pay some poor operators to do the job? If the machine is broken, buy the parts? or repair it? It won't cost 100,000 cedis/. Dredging the thing too na wahala.

There is the right way to accomplish long term development goals and there is the fool’s way of doing things hoping to get there, Mr. President. A fool’s way has been written in our history books care of the Dr. Busia administration; those who live to ignore or learn from those mistakes live to repeat them because they are simply fools. A reminder that Busia attempted to tackle the overwhelming issue of inadequate drainage and gutter system in Accra and failed miserably because not only did his book knowledge not a match for the problem but the NPP/UP/UGCC Busia-Danquah ideology came to be a farce.

A successful drainage system development in Ghana is going to require both sewage treatment plants and the relocation of some in most communities; a feat requiring political courage with no care for losing the next election. For as long as Ghana's NPP and NDC play it safe with decisions that require candor and courage we will throw good money at bad money. The drainage system issue in Ghana require acts that may infuriate some but like my mother told me long before her death, anyone who attempts to please everyone becomes a liar along the way. Mr. President John Mahama, do not waste money on the drainage project unless you are willing to tackle the bull by the horn.

In my opinion, the Accra drainage project can be constructed without foreign loan. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah completed most local projects in the country without a foreign loan. All governments after him have are corrupt, and that is the problem the country is facing. The country spends more than it earns, and is easier for them to go for foreign loans which they end up diverting not less than 60 percent of the money to their offshore accounts. Ghana really started taking loans for every single project in the country after the February 1966 coup. The country is being ripped off by a few from both divide, (NDC/NPP) military for the past 45 years, and Ghanaians are divided more than ever due to partisan politics, and is the main root of the ongoing corruption in the country. Untill Ghanaians change their attitudes, and start thinking wisely, the few will keep on exploiting the masses.
