Ghana can't enforce half of the regulations as described by the WHO and EU.
first; kill all birds that have been in contact or possible direct or indirect contact with the sick birds in a radius of 3 KM.

Second; All poultry needs to be locked up in a 10 km radius from the outbreak.
CAN WE DO THAT, we don't have closed stables and cages ?
second; every individual entering and leaving a place where poultry is, in an affected area needs to be disinfected . CAN WE DO THAT, do we have the capacity for that ?
Transport of birds, eggs and other products within the 10 km radius is not allowed. CAN WE GUARANTY THAT ?
are people in the next village prepared not to have chickens or egg to eat ?

yes, those farmers whose farms have been affected need to be compensated by the government. It is however , unbelievable that the ministry is claiming to have spent 1,000,000 cedis in culling 40,000 birds. I hope that the m ... read full comment
