All these mushroom enterprises of private universities are not up to scratch. They should have all been instituted as polytechnics first. Most of them have been instituted by churches and attention seekers who have no pedigree of running any educational institutions. In my opinion they should all be shut down. They serve no purpose bringing out products who are not fit for purpose.
If you cannot run an institution, don't create one.

Most of these private universities although a plus for the nation, have chosen the easy way out with Liberal Arts disciplines while the state institutions are still bearing the brunt of hard core sciences and R & D. which involve a lot of investments that the private universities are avoiding. Not surprising that the recognition of autonomy also eludes. Those faculties are important factor for the autonomy they are seeking. My dear Prof you know better.

Review discriminations against the Private Universities in Ghana to ensure equitable development of human capital for national development. There is no empirical evidence that public universities are better developers of human capital, unless NAB is seen discriminating against the private Universities.
Private capital in any sector in Ghana should not be rejected or be allowed to suffer discrimination.
Discrimination against private educational institutions is not sustainable, and should be discontinued for national good.
Private Universities could do a lot for national development and research if their freedom is not restrained.
Restriction of academic freedom is bad for the public Universities as well as the private Universities.
Ghana should not allow political bias to undermine national development in any sector.
