Kinpi's rather unfortunate manner of expression shouldn't give us cause to overlook the implacable fact that as individuals and communities we must keep our surroundings clean. Even in countries where efficient waste management exists individuals still sort their garbage and place them in designated places to be taken away. We live in a country where people don´t want to pay tax, where government revenue is small and overstretched and where the infrastructure for organised waste management is pathetic. Shouldn´t we, in the face of these challenges, not be measured in our expectations of what government and city authorities can do? Shouldn´t we complement the efforts of authorities by ridding our environment of the filth that is threatening to spill into our bedrooms? What do we gain when we fold our arms and complain to the high heavens about government inadequacy? Abrantie, you may not like the present government but let's support the sanitation day initiative and begin the attitudinal changes that can prove to be more potent than any government action to keep our cities clean.

You started well but went astray along the way. We live in a country where people do not want to pay taxes? Who wants to willingly pay taxes? Where government is small? Well, when government steals the country's money, the revenue will definitely be small. The so-called sanitation day is not the solution to our filthy environment. In the places you where waste management is efficient, why don't we make ours efficient too? Does it make sense for the whole country to go desilting drains only to pile the filth on the sides of the drain for the next rain?

Almost 60 years after independence we continue to build chaotically, unprofessionally, and below modern standards. State funds that could have been used to transform our urban areas into well-planned and modern living environments are stolen and given to the Woyomes & co. We then expect to get on with out lives as usual. Hell no, mother nature doesn't work that way. We are and will pay dearly for our negligence, shoddiness, lack of vision and boundless corruption. This is only the beginning, the "comodgies" (comedies / trailer). Global warming is on the way, bringing its own punishment.
Let your governments keep stealing as usual and have no vision, no clue, and keep the same chaotic, uninspected, shoddy construction and lack of modern sewer and drainage systems. Keep it up! You haven't seen nothing yet from NATURE!
