This is catastrophic and a sad day for Ghana. We need to regulate the gas industry and stop petrol stations being built in residential neighborhoods.

My condolences to all families. Authorities must address filling stations erected close to settlements or the other way round allowing settlements close to filling station. Only in Ghana , you see someone's house behind a filling station and shops around. Who gives permit/ Killing poor souls due to incompetent government officials and lack of adherence to the law. Government must use it's mandate given by electorates to govern the country instead of political rheotoric on radio.

Is this the curse of June 4th or rather the ghost of it?
I have said it before and I will say it again, until we as a nation repudiate June 4th and the evils it represented the nation and people od Ghana will to suffer.

I do not understand why some are fighting for the mayor and the authorities. It is true that it is the responsibility of us all, but the mayor and those responsible for building inspection has to be blamed.
Why were they employed? Why are they paid every month? Just to sit at their offices and not to work? They are responsible for stopping all works of construction in waterways. If people build on waterways, it is the fault of the city not the individuals. The city has failed to do his job.
As we all know, illiteracy in Ghana is very high, as a result, people do not consider all these b4 outing up structures. It is thefore the responsibility of those who know better to educate and discourage, and even use force to atennuate building in waterways.
I blame the city for this.

A Gas Station shouldn't be built so close to a residential area like that, it should be at least 700_yards away from any commercial area.
The victim's relatives should sue Goil. They think we are animals, these big businesses think we are stupid and have no respect for poor people, so they can do whatever they want.
Regardless of how the fire started, if the Station was built with safty precautions, it wouldn't have cost so many damage like that!

THIS GOIL INCIDENT SHOULD TELL THE EPA THAT THE RECENT SITING OF FILLING STATIONS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY IS DANGEROUS. IN THE LAST YEAR OR LESS, I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL NEW PETROL FILLING STATIONS IN THE MIDST OF RESIDENCES. A CASE IN POINT IS ONE IN WEST LEGON NOT FAR FROM THE POLICE CONTAINER. THE LOCATION USE TO BE SOME SORT OF DRINKING SPOT WITH A NUMBER CHALETS. THIS WAS BROKEN DOWN AND WITHIN ABOUT 3 MONTHS AN "AI" FILLING STATION IS STANDING THERE. THE STATION SHARES A WALL WITH A PROPERTY TO THE BACK OF IT. MEANWHILE THE HOUSE JUST IMMEDIATELY ACROSS THE STREET FROM IT IS UP FOR RENT. WHY? THE EPA IS BEING IRRESPONSIBLE. JUST FOR THE SAKE OF MONEY THEY ARE GRANTING THESE DANGEROUS PERMIT. ANOTHER ONE JUST WENT UP AT HAATCHO ALSO WITHIN RESITENTIAL AREA.
