It is unreasonable to ask that they provide seat belts to all passengers?
I blame government in their failure to sell the road safety laws to passengers adequately.
If passengers insist on having an educated driver and buses fitted with seat belts, then drivers will have no say but to comply.
why issue a driver's license to an illiterate driver in the first place?
Now over 75 people are dead because of government's wanton issuance of license for filling stations some of which are located deep within residential areas.

After all has been said, it is clear that poor physical planning has played a key role in the disaster. Ghanaians need to realize that failing to plan,will lead to trouble.
All City councils, Town and Country Planning, Lands Commission and other departments need to take some responsibility here. Ghanaian citizens need to also realize that failing to obey rules and laws can have catastrophic results. Bribing officials to turn a blind eye, only postponds the problem.Let these losses be the final wake up call to get our act together.

A coupled of weeks I was travelling through Kwame Nkrumah Circle and surprisingly I saw silt in Odor River(about 90% of the drain). How do you expect the water not to seek other routes? We expect this to happen. Who is in charge of desilting the odor river?? Why should people be given international awards when the time bombs we are sitting on has not been defused. How you spent excess money beyond your allocated funds in 2012 and how you and afari gyan managed to staff the ballot boxes to become the first ballot staffed president are unprecedented.
To crown your achievements, your wickedness and bad, incompetent governance has seen ghana the first time in this unmeasurable disaster. This as stupid as it gets. As much as I sympathise with the deceased and their families, we should bow our heads in shame and take responsibility for our individual actions as well.

Now, is the time to Crack the whip. City & Local authorities must take the fight to recalcitrant offenders and get rid of the filth of indiscipline. Anyone or group of people who tried to interfere with their jobs must be arrested and prosecuted without fear or favour.

Last year when the floods led to the loss of lives, John Dramani Mahama went to stand at the scene of the floods and said he had instructed Terkper to release funds to construct drains to address the flooding situation in Accra.
It never happened.
The floods have set in again from the torrential rains and once again mother nature has not been kind to Ghanaians leading to the loss of over 100 Ghanaians in just a matter of hours, under this same John Dramani Mahama, who is again talking of the loss being catastrophic and unprecedented.
The question is, was the loss of lives and property last year and the year before and the year before and the year before all not catastrophic and unprecedented?
Ghana and Ghanaians, the John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't has failed.
Since the Mahama NDC gov't is now in the habit of comparing their governance to that of the US, we would cite an example to make our point. When Hurricane Katrina hit the shores of Louisiana and claimed lives and property, the US gov't made sure the infrastructure was put in place so it never happened again, whilst they rebuilt the area worst affected. Suffice to say it has not happened again. The President at the time George Bush through the handling of the disaster met his waterloo and coupled with a number of other factors, was voted out.
The number of Ghanaians who die in a single day from the failed leadership and governance of the John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't is more than the deaths in war-torn enclaves of Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Boko Haram in Nigeria and most of the hot spots around the world.
And the most dangerous aspect of this state of affairs is, it is not getting better. Indeed, it is getting worse and worse and worse.
Deaths from crime which has escalated in recent times with Ghanaians being shot, killed, murdered in cold blood has gained and assumed a life of it's own with no obvious ability of the security agencies to bring the situation under control.
Deaths resulting from the failed and collapsed healthcare system gets worse every single day.
The deaths of these loved ones with the number hitting almost a 100, with more expected, in one single fell swoop is by far the most tragic, the most horrible, the most grotesque, the most ghoulish, the most churlish scene ever to be witnessed in this country, in Accra the capital, and the central business district for that matter.
The John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't has failed, there is pain and grief in the land, the elderly are dying, the middle-aged are dying, young adults are dying, teenagers are dying, children are dying, infants are dying, and Ghana is in very, very dangerous times.
Nothing is working in Ghana under this John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't.
Ghana definitely needs Change. Ghana deserves Change. It is imperative Ghana gets Change. This Change is a must because the John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't has failed.
It is the most important issue ever, now, in the history of governance in this country and the Mahama NDC gov't needs to go.

Definitely there are people who regarding their parochial interests went extremes to allocate such places to the residents at the area. When one is desperate for something, he/she loses the sense to check if the thing he/she has been outfitted with meets the requirement he/she desires. People are therefore more desperate to build and less apprehensive to check if the areas they are to build are safe or not. What have you been doing as a president for the past 7 years to avert this episode and further occurrences?
