Nana Akufo Addo has failed his party in a grand style. The only way to show respect for the will of delegates who elected the leaders of a party is for all the elected leaders, as of necessity, to work as one team. Unfortunately, Akufo Addo is not thinking this way. He understands his mandate as the Flagbearer, and for that matter leader of his party, as more important than the mandate given to others. That is probably why he naively thinks he can mastermind the elimination of the elected chairman and the general secretary of the party and expect to have peace and tranquility in the party. If this were not his wish all that it would take to bring calm was for him to intervene and call all members of the party to work as a team.
In all democracies, any action to rubbish the mandate of the people will end up in a lose-lose situation ie, without a winner. It was within the tenets of a healthy democracy to campaign against the election of any candidate, whether Paul Afoko, or Kwabena Agyepong or any other, before the eventual primaries. Of course before the primaries, every candidate, including Akufo Addo himself, had someone or some group campaigned against his/her election. However, after the delegates had spoken, the wise thing to do was to reconcile all the various factions behind one front to chart the cause of the party.
The right person to lead this reconciliation action is Nana Akufo Addo but he has failed to do this. Instead, he has vowed to eliminate Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong at all costs because he perceives them as not coming from his camp. There is no national party in which there are not factions. Yet, Akufo Addo wants to reign over a one-nana-addo-faction NPP. The result is that, the NPP has been thrown into total confusion which already has seen the unnecessary loss of the life of Adam Mahama. Akufo Addo has failed and he must resign before more damage is done to the NPP.

Ephson is most uncomfortable with Nana's approach because it offers him and all who do not wish the NPP well no grounds to deepen the crisis or drag Nana into it for political gain.I do not think that elders in Ephson's family solve serious family matters in the open. Ephson is fully aware that it is not possible to solve such matters without hurting the feelings of some parties and wants Nana to fall into that trap so that he and his like can impose a factional identity on Nana in the matter. Ephson was quick to cite the NPP constitution to defend Afoko and Kwabena but did not use same principles and standards to justify his call on Nana's involvement. Ephson is no expert on the subject and having access to the media does not make him one. Ephson must remember that he is not infallible or immune to criticism. His guilt of commission/bias and ommission/hypocrisy are as voluminous as his comments and if he continues in this track we shall expose him.

The screaming headlines they have been writing in their heads will die with them. A true leader thinks with his brain not his mouth!! Nana's response has been impeccable. He has shown true mature leadership by not running to the media with his views on the conduct of Afoko and Agyepong, but working with the appropriate structures of the NPP to resolve the dispute. At the end of it all, he would have succeeded in showing Ghanaians that he has the maturity and temperament to lead this nation out of the abyss we have been sunk by immature John Mahama ang his chorus of corrupt babies with sharp teeth!! In spite of the rumpus currently boiling in NPP circles the support base of the political party remains unshakably at the grassroots.
Ghanaians are so deeply rooted in democratic rule to the extent that the pandemonium raging within their idol political parties(NPP and NDC) do not bother them and come the election day in 2016 the turnout will be massive.
We were all appalled of the dastardly manner by which Adams Mahama and other political figures were assassinated but what we the living can do is to allow the law to take charge to deal with the culprits.
You wait and see the next general election day in 2016. What Ghana needs from you is your prayers for the Almighty to shield us under HIS mighty arms to consolidate our cherished democracy for posterity.

Akufo-Addo is neither the cause nor the solution.JAK is.
If you cannot identify your problem,you can never get to the solution.
The suggestion for JAK to break away when we are a stone throw from the 2016 elections is so dumb.The supporters of Akufo-Addo will definitely not throw their wait behind JAK's party.We need the numbers for victory.
An open appeal for unity at a joint press conference with JAK and Akufo-Addo and the council of elders side by side will not be out of place.
