Aside of the few, almost obsolete traditional killings such as the murder of Nana Apedwahene of blessed memory in the wake of the death of Nana Ofori-Atta in the 40s, most ritual murders in Ghana today are motivated by an inordinate lust for money and committed by locals. It is therefore unfair for you to insinuate that suspicion should be cast and focused only on Ewes in the region. Such murders in recent memory include the Kofi Twintoh case in the Sefwi area involving the chief of the town, the victims Uncle and other relatives; the Abesim case in BA involving the chief of Abesim and his wife and others; and the list goes on. What we should be doing is to suggest ways to forestall the recurrence of such barbaric acts and not to incite any tribal animosities.
