Is this all? Is this supposed to be a comprehensive statement of the status of a Board of Directors of a Bank?
From what I read above, this is merely a statement that seeks to defend ineptitude, incompetence and corruption.
As for this yarn about "..management had to rent premises at Osu, Nima, Achimota and Spintex road to accommodate those departments and units which could not find space at Pegasus", it is a cock and bull story. It is like saying that all govt institutions like ministries and depts were inconveniently scattered so the ideal thing to do is to dump them all at the Presidency for effective management. In the information age in which we live, companies are rather encouraging staff - not even depts, to work from home or anywhere else away from their main offices to save on rent. So far this seems to be working effectively in the interest of those companies some of which are huge multinationals.
The defense of the Board Chairman buying the old Mercedes Benz vehicle is the most deplorable excuse that can be given by an adult. It presumes that Ghanaians are stupid, daft and dumb. As I said above, these people have no moral compunctions and no sense of shame whatsoever. Like many or rather most people holding senior positions in govt, they are just a bunch of miseducated bush-boys who do not know what time of the day it is.
For instance the excuse that a Board member had been a client of the bank for over 20 years does not exonerate him from acquiring a favorable loan from a bank over which he presides. Either that Board member should not have accepted the offer to become a Board member in the first place or he should have avoided doing business with a bank at which he is a Board member.
Have our moral values sunk so low that we cannot even, as ordinary citizens, draw the line between what is morally right and what is unacceptable? Of course, anybody would immediately think that he took the loan because he obviously was in a privileged position to overly benefit from both his position and the loan.

No, hold on - where in this release is it stated that the bank is fast-sinking and thus needs help? I believe much as the bank is having its own issues with performance, the media is also not helping matters with concocted and embellished stories about the bank.@Starrfmonline, come again, your headline and story is totally misleading! You seem to be going the way of the naysayers who think once a bad story comes out of the bank, the whole institution should be demonized. @Adomfm has been on this beat, and now you've also joined it. Stop peddling untruths, they won't help your course!

In the opening paragraph of this article it is stated that the bank is sinking fast and something has to be done to salvage it. Unfortunately, in the full published statement by the board, this statement did not feature again. Please clarify - is the bank sinking or not? I am a customer and if the bank is sinking, I'll have to close my accounts. Similarly events in 2006 forces me to close a deposit account - and yet things did not happen as they were being speculated. Please come out clearly on whether bank is sinking or not!
Thank you.

Steve is a thief. If those who are defending will speak the truth this is not a guy worth defending. At GCB he was literally sacked. At STANBIC he colluded with some high profile customers and he was recommended dismissal. In Banking sometimes leadership is sympathetic and recommend resignation that saved Steve Kpodzi. Pls the the boy is a criminal. He is quick to ,kill young men who whose prospects are so high and he cannot stands ambition. Ask him how he managed the Bank. His game is up and as somebody who knows so much abt him the time is up for him to go. Let him stand aside and let genuine investigators and auditors take over so that the full disclosure will be out.

The heart of many Ghanaians bleeds any time the issue of the ADB, its MD and Board is mentioned. The rot at the Bank the auspices of this MD are so much; more than the word gargantuan. But who watches the watchman. The President and his brothers brought him to ADB when the President was the Vice. The question is did they offer him the position to come and serve Ghana or himself and his appointing masters? If current happenings at the Bank are good and acceptable to his masters then no wander Ghanaians and Ghana are in this mess.
This MD has sold over 23 landed properties of the Bank to his cronies’ across the country. He has sold the Bank’s shares in Fidelity Bank and other insurance and financial ventures. He has supervised many violations of the Banking Act; the Bank has on many occasions exceeded the BOG single obligor policy on lending. Under his regime the Bank has paid huge judgment debts to dismissed staff as a result of his leadership style. The MD is too vindictive. He has taken the Bank as his personal property. Staff morale is at its lowest level. What is the MD’s interest in the many companies dealing with new building and the IPO? The ordinary Ghanaian farmers have not benefit from the Bank since this MD took over.
Why did the Board decide to address issues that they can defend? They should come again to address all issues raised against them. How much do them and management take home as bonuses. These people should spare us. There is no need to spill the beans but carefully reading over their statement one may be attempted to say the unprintable.
Listen to them; A management/employee dispute cannot be a justification for the leakage of confidential information particularly those of our cherished customers. At the appropriate time these matters will be investigated. Yes will be investigated indeed. This is not just a management and employee issue, it is a national issue. The MD and Board have refused to see ADB as national asset hence your diabolic actions. Any attempt to continue with their intimidation, arbitrary dismissals, vindictiveness and rough play shall be met this time in a commensurate proportion. We shall never sit down for any few individuals to milk the nation.
If the state want to see blood before it reacts so be it. Every Ghanaian is now an orphan; because of governance and institutional failure. We have a President who does not care. The Council of State, the Former Presidents, the TUC and all should kindly care and take some time to know what is happening and offer the best of advice to the President. For the Ghanaian journalist their interest is always politics and that is bad. On about three four occasions on Joy and Peace media platform Kwaku Baako could not comment fully on this issue citing inadequate information. The question is if is about NDC and NPP Kwaku would never have said that.

Fast sinking ADB needs help indeed!! Dear members of the Board your re -joiner provides an interesting story to the public to digest. You have really opened yourselves up for many questions. Is it by near co-incidence that the Bank boards a posh car only for the Board Chairman among millions of Ghanaians to buy it at an auction at USD 20,000? Again does the Board use the same standards for the consideration of an application from one of its members? How many other Directors, past or present currently have loans from the Bank? Further how on earth can a one be selected to the Board of a Bank from which he has a loan which has adversely been classified? No wonder an ex convict and a loan defaulter could find himself in the Board chair and purchased prime assets of the Bank under dubious circumstances. Stay tuned.
