For your information, he is a big time opportunist who wanted to use the NPP that others had built with their sweat and toil as a short circuit to the Ghanaian presidency. Because he is stupid, he brushed aside all wisdom-packed advice to build a constituency (support base) from the ground level and rather went straight for the kill (the presidency).

He ended up making a complete fool of himself by getting only his own single vote. All the people that followed him and were singing his praises to make him swollen-headed only used him to fill their pockets! All his money got finished and his medical practice in the USA run into huge debts. His wife and two children in the USA were being supported by a friend who was even rumoured to be secretly flirting with the wife while he was struggling in Ghana. He has now run away back to the USA to rehabilitate his broken life. And yet he wouldn't keep quite and always talking nonsense!

We should not misread the figures. The sample was only 76 - a third of all countries in the world. Ghana is certainly NOT the last in the World - just in this unrepresentative sample made up mostly of European countries.

We should not misread the figures. The sample was only 76 - a third of all countries in the world. Ghana is certainly NOT the last in the World - just in this unrepresentative sample made up mostly of European countries.

The OECD rankings have not shown that Ghana has gone backwards. This is the first time such rankings have been done that included some African countries. If the same rankings had been done say in the 70s, Ghana would still have been in the same position, probably even worst.

There were only a few African countries in the 76 country sample. Those African countries were chosen because they had good statistics over such things. Ghana was one of such. Many countries in Africa were not even qualified to be considered because they had such poor data. So Ghana was among the better achievers in Africa.

The sample comprised mostly OECD countries and East Asian high achievers. Ghana has never been better than these countries educationally. So it isn't that we have gone backwards. Most of the countries in the sample have always been better than us on several indices.

The best performer in Africa is Tunisia which came up 64th which is not far from Ghana's placement. South Africa was second to last on the list. But that country has some very good educational institutions. Countries like Togo, Nigeria, Senegal were not in the sample.

This is the full list of rankings. Look at it well and you'll see Ghana is in good company. After all, two-thirds of the world's nations were not examined and we cannot say they are better than Ghana.

The revolutionaries claimed their revolution was going to create graduates needed for the Ghanaian economy. Just then, their so-called secretaries managed to send their kids to foreign countries in which their children, after graduation, will - impliedly - not be of any use to Ghana. Where is Ezenator, who was sneaked out on the quiet to go to medical school in Britain. Is she at Korle Bu Hospital? And the rest of Ghana watched helplessly as Jerry Rawlings quietly sneaked all four of his children out of the mess he created. And what of the economy? How far have the JSS graduates helped to improve Ghana's economy? All they did was to build a 20 million dollar corruption head office.

The body was created to encourage acquisition, dissemination and utilization of knowledge in all branches of the sciences and the humanities. The academy is a watch dog for the arts and sciences. . They should have been monitoring our performance, alert the nation of adverse trends and make recommendations to the government for appropriate corrective actions in a timely manner. We look forward to the academy’s proposal and implementation plan to incrementally improve our grade from F to A. Is it inappropriate for the people to look to the august body for leadership regarding this issue or am I wrong? We await a timely response from the chairman of the Ghana Academy of arts and sciences regarding our dismal performance. Thank you

The sometimes ll say with pride without shame that,their time they were 2 in a room and everything was good, forgetting that some made it so and that, they owe it a duty to do same for students today.How on earth can primary school children be reading almost 10 subject? Not to talk of JHS and SHS, so at the end of the day, even the teachers find it difficult to handle all areas of learning especially when a particular subject lacks the right teacher. Mr Rawlings must also take the blame for changing our educational system without proper thinking, because it was a military regime not much consultation was done,example after scraping the form four system and bringing this new one junior & senior high school, we should ve mmaintain lower & upper six before University but we Harry to copy thereby messing up with our education beyond repairs.Even currently crop of graduates need help because they re half baked students, all you need to do is engaged them and I ll be vindicated. Private school ve taken over education as purely business while GES who if for nothing atall Co ordinate their activities, re looking on for them to cheat parents,in short I think we re becoming a failed state because tune your radio and television, all you ll hear is politics.

If Ghana, the lowest ranked country, achieved basic skills for all its 15-year-olds, the report says that it would expand its current GDP by 38 times, over the lifetime of today's youngsters.

Only a minority of countries in Africa had sufficient test data to be included in these rankings - and it could be that countries such as Ghana are among the higher achievers in the continent, performing better than the majority for which there are no comparable figures.

When it comes to such issues you don't have any moral right to comment because you are one of the most unpatrotic people I have come across. Why did you live the UCC's medical school and went back to the US? Whom do you expect to develop Ghana for you to only come and enjoy and when it is not juicy any longer because your party is not in power you run away.
