Yes, left to them, Ghana would have been a chaotic place by now since they were not mandated by the citizenry to steer the affairs of the republic as they would have liked, but who pays heed to them anyway! The last time I checked, the infighting in their so-called party has grown an extra wing and ready to take to the air for a colourful showcase before all and sundry.
So, please ignore them. The deal is that, the Ivorians has realized that their chances of winning the disputed area all to themselves is simply very slim indeed, therefore convincing to jointly develop the zone is the only way and of course, the wise way to go. 60% for Ghana and 40% is better losing everything to Ghana, they might have considered hence Alassane Ouattara travelling personally to meet John Mahama.
A move I predicted, looking at the equidistant maritime boundary Ghana presented to the Hamburg-based tribunal.

Mahama(a Gonja) is following the prescriptions of OIC.You remember a Muslim MP from Gonjaland declared that adulterous women should be stoned to death. Again Boko Haram in Akyem terrorized Muslim women for buying food from Christians yet the IGP(a Gonja Muslim) kept mute. Muslims burnt down a Christian mission house in Atebubu yet the IGP was again silent. AMA banning churches in classrooms, Northern Regional Minister accusing the Christian clergy of encouraging politicians to be corrupt. These are all plans aimed at suppressing Christianity to please the OIC. These are all indicators that Mahama is feverishly handing over Ghana to the Organisation of Islamic Countries for Money. We should remember Islam is useless without direct state support and so Mahama is providing that support to Muslims to grow in Ghana whilst at the same time suppressing Christians. He is doing this because Islam as a religion is useless without direct political/government intervention.

RESPECT IS EARNED, AND FROM WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON IN GHANA WHERE EVERY TOM, DICK AND HARRY INCREASES ELECTRICITY AND OTHER TARIFFS AND PRICES WILLY-NILLY, AMONGST MANY OTHERS, IT CLEARLY SHOWS THAT GHANAIANS HAVE LOST RESPECT AND CONFIDENCE IN THE ENTIRE WEAK AND CORRUPT LEADERSHIP, PERIOD!
CONSIDER A SCENARIO WHERE WEAK PRESIDENT MAHAMA WAS SEEN IN A PHOTO HAVING A HANDSHAKE WITH A RAPPER CALLED SARKORDIE, A SCHOOL NON-ACHIEVER OR DROPOUT, WEARING A CAP TURNED FRONT-TO-BACK.
IT CLEARLY SHOWS THAT PRESIDENT MAHAMA HAS WOEFULLY LOST THE RESPECT AND CONFIDENCE OF THOSE HE WAS ELECTED TO PROTECT AND SERVE - GHANAIANS.
THE LOOK IN SARKORDIE'S FACE CLEARLY SHOWED HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR MAHAMA WHATSOEVER.
HONESTLY, MAHAMA HAS LOST IT COMPLETELY WITH THE VAST MAJORITY OF GHANAIAN VOTERS, AND I'M SURE HE'S SEEN THE WRITING ON THE WALL BUT PRETENDING TO "LOOK ELSEWHERE".

If this Agreement leads to the changing of our Maritime Borders we would tear it up and seek the UN Courts Authority to mediate.
It took almost 6 months for Lawyers to put together legal arguments to the International Court in Hamburg.
So how come in less than 1 day Mahama suddenly have all the information available to make a deal with the Ivoriens. We want to know what is in the Agreement else we would tear it up with a new Government!

Parliament ought to summon Mahama urgently and instruct him to proceed with the Arbitration at the UN Court in Hamburg for the Experts to rule on this case.
What is the haste in this deal. We are not exchanging fire with Ivory Coast so why not wait for the professionals to do their work and pronounce a ruling which everyone can legally abide by.
