Why should a nation of only 25 million people, a an economy in the ICU have 275 parliamentary seats? In addition to this we have DCEs appointed by the president all these people are given "huge" perks from our lethargic economy. Awuni, put on your thinking cap and don't just insult people. Do you think the government just prints money to pay for these guys? The fact that Kan Dapaah was party to increasing the number of seats does not mean it should be maintained or he shouldn't criticise it. I am very sure he has become wiser as we all do after we make mistakes. I believe he is making a very sensible suggestion that should be considered. This mean there could re-districting of our electoral landscape for elections.

You insult just for the sake of it and not for the merits of the arguement put across. The core point in his proposal is that a lot of these MPs don't make any contributions to the most important business in the parliament. In effect all he is saying these non useful MPs are of no use to the parliament and as result a drain to the scares national resource. They just add up to the numbers hence we need revise our. Notes and make our parliament useful and pay people according to how they work.I think this is a laudable idea that doesn't merit insults irrespective of whether he has been there or not.

Two MPs in Cape coast for example has not brought any benefits. To start treamlining government , it needs to start from the top for people to buy into the idea. How do you convince labour that you need to streamline public service when the executive, legislature, judiciary, too many boards are bloated and a drain on Ghana's resources. You even hear a High Commissioner saying the people he is supposed to represent don't related to them in SA, what a waste pf state resources.

Ghana is reeling under intense pressure due to our foolishness. Does it make sense to invite the IMF to come and tells us to be "cost conscious"? Ghana should not have more than hundred MPs at least we can vouch for 10 people from each region and that will save a lot. Also, the payment of ex-gratia should be wiped out with immediate effect.
We are suffering due to our inability to think outside the box. We believe that we can do the same thing and expect different results. No and never.

We all know that because of collusion amongst people, uprooting corruption in society has always been impossible.
Neither Man nor Government can fight corruption successfully, especially in Ghana.
The only sure way to do so therefore is to resort to the SPIRITUAL means.
All we need to do is to start fighting corruption from the top and it will transcend to everyone in the country within a few months.
How do we accomplish this?
Whenever we swear in Politicians, Board Members and Senior Management of Parastatals, or any High Level Government Officials in the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), we should make sure as part of the oath of allegiance they swear to will include:
(1) A BLESSING to these individuals and their families if they perform genuinely and diligently as if, to quote Mr. Mahama, "such institutions they manage or oversee belong to their fathers".
(2) At the same time, there is a need to insert a section within the same oath of allegiance on bringing a CURSE to these same people and their families, and even from generation to generation if they ever amass wealth through corruption during the period of their public service.
What the Government can therefore do is to modify those oath of allegiances slightly to reflect these proposals and I can assure you that, Ghana will surpass even Singapore in her development within months and not even in years.
