MAHAMA AND HIS BUNCH OF CROOKISH INCOMPETENT CORRUPT MONSTERS CAN NEVER DO IT! NO! NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!!! NDC LACK THE BRAINS. JUST LOOK AROUND; CAN'T YOU SEE? JUST OPEN YOUR EARS; CAN'T YOU HEAR? IS THIS THE GHANA K4 HANDED OVER TO NDC GREEDY CORRUPT BASTARDS??? ---------------WHO CAN PROVE KWASI ADADE WRONG? I AM SAYING, THAT, GHANAIANS VOTED FOOLISHLY!!-- IS THIS NDC'S BETTER GHANA? THEN WHAT WILL THEIR BITTER GHANA BE?--- IF THIS IS NDC'S PRAISE THE LORD, THEN, WHAT WILL THEIR CRUCIFY HIM BE?--- GHANA'S PROBLEM, TODAY, IS NOTHING BUT THE RESULT OF CRIMINAL NDC'S ALLIANCE TO CREATE, LOOT AND SHARE POLICY***---------------*** "IT IS ONLY A FOOL, WHO ALLOWS HIS TESTICLES TO BE STEPPED ON, TWICE"-------GO OUT THERE AND RECEIVE YOUR REWARD, ALL GHANAIANS. GO AND PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUR FOOLISHNESS. YOU DON'T GIVE A SECOND MANDATE TO AN INCOMPETENT AND CORRUPT GOVERNMENT, NO!! NOT AT ALL, THAT IS ABOMINATION IN DEMOCRACY, VERY SUICIDAL. HAD NDC MANAGED THE ECONOMY WELL, THESE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE SITUATION. NDC HAS PRESIDED OVER THE BIGGEST RESOURCES GHANA HAS EVER HAD. THEY HAVE ALSO CONTRACTED MORE LOANS THAN ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT IN OUR HISTORY, BUT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THIS. GHANAIANS SHOULD HAVE ENJOYED SOME ECONOMIC PROGRESS AT THIS TIME IN OUR HISTORY. THE ECONOMY IS COLLAPSING BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS SO CORRUPT. TO RESCUE THE SITUATION, THE POOR IS NOW BEING FORCED TO PAY. THIS IS INJUSTICE. THIS IS NOT THE GHANA KUFFOUR HANDED OVER TO NDC, HE EVEN ADDED FRESH CRUDE OIL WELLS. NPP TRANFORMED GHANA TO A MIDDLE INCOME ECONOMY WITH LIMITED RESOURCES BUT GOOD POLICIES. NDC IS WOEFULLY REVERSING THESE NPP ACHIEVEMENTS. GHANA'S CURRENT SITUATION IS VERY DISTURBING. WHEN THE HISTORY IS TOLD, IT WILL BE SAID THAT GHANAIANS WERE OFFERED FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION, IMPROVED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, SOCIAL HOUSING FOR THE POOR AND AN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY BUT 50% SAID NO THANK YOU. THEY PREFERRED ECONOMIC "WOYOMISATION" , PHANTOM DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, PHILANDERERS FOR LEADERS, MACHIAVELLIAN DISRESPECTFUL CORRUPT LOUTS AND A VISIONLESS EVIL GOVERNMENT. I AM SO PROUD I VOTED FOR NANA AKUFFO ADDO.

I'm baffled as to the nature of the English used here. It's sad to see student leaders write English like ostriches with their heads in the sand. What a shame! And there are three or four signatories to it - all of them blind?
However, I'm sympathetic with their cause. Where do these poor students get the money to pay for the proposed bill? It's not like there's vacational work for them to do, as it is for students in the advanced world. And sadly still, they have been suffering dumsor on regular basis. There isn't a hope of timely jobs even after their courses. Meanwhile, the irresponsible government keeps looking the other way as monies are being looted. Too many ministerial appointments; too many presidential staffers. Mahama didn't know that he should put his foot down, doing so right from the beginning. He took the human beings around him for granted: edzi bi keke government. Officials are caught with stolen money and all they do is try to take the money from them, if they can, and let them go free because they are party or tribal members. No wonder he would later call himself a dead goat, an apt description of himself. Presidency in Ghana cannot be modeled on that of the US or any developed country as far as being tough is concermed. For a developing country president needs to be tough indeed. It shouldn't be as partisan as in it is in the advanced countries because the developing countries already have their partisanship based mainly on tribal lines, which is a source of strife hampering economic growth and encouraging thievery and unpatriotism.
It takes a lot of discerning to know how to rule successfully and beneficially as a president of such a nation. It takes loving the country deeply and not being tribalistic or partisan or nepotistic. In the end it will pay off, though initially it will meet with some resistance. When the benefit begins to take off, it will be without stopping. The seed of national confidence would have been sown.
Could Mahama have done that? Had his brother got his personal jet yet?

You need to read about Global economy. In many countries, students of tertiary institutions pay for their utilities. Now, let me tell you this. In such countries, High school students can have jobs even while still in school. Can that be said of Ghana. Ask of graduate unemployment in Ghana and you shall be sad. Don't say they are unemployable because they are. How do they get jobs to do when they travel to the Western World, even if the works they do are not in their area of specialization. How many Ghanaians in tertiary students have work to do while in school. Just name me five and where they work.
Let me tell you that the government can take care of the utility bills if corruption is checked. If 50 million Dollars worth of fuel cannot be accounted for, and abou GH800,000 of Social Security money has been wrongly spent, what do you expect.

Prez Mahama should take a bold decision and make gov't pay utilities else NDC will exit power 2016. The university authorities wanted to take this opportunity to cheat students for their personal own interest. Prez should check the corruption in the system. Why Ghana should go to IMF for a loan, God blessed Ghana with all the natural resources but we still go IMF for a loan. Our leaders re corrupt and dishonest. It is not the matter of increase taxes and levy students to pay unnecessary bills but it is a matter of reduce unnecessary expenditures and fighting corruption.

Non-sense. You better give ultimatum to your mediocre lecturers and your sub-standard intellectual standards as compared to your counterparts in the rest of the world. You cannot compete with the rest of the world, you always blame others for your keep, your irresponsible behaviour and poor performances in our Ghanaian communities. Listen to the rest of the student communities in the world. They show initiative, assertive ad challenging in a positive manner, they are serious about their future and show responsible attitude for their duties and their mistakes. They apply good inter-personal formula to foster relationships with those around and outside them. They hardly see an academic qualification/s as means to the end or a panacea to all the world problems. So it is their performance and the application of the knowledge they gain to reality and the world around them that gain them the credit but not hooliganism, violence, intellectually lazy attitude, arrogance, impunity, irresponsibility, political sycophancy and stupidity. Someone should caution you about your irresponsible attitude. I would concentrate more on the quality of my course and passing it with a quality degree. Unfortunately in you are the same lots who come out of the universities to take up the responsible positions in Ghana. And what are your output? Incompetence, corruption, impunity, abuse of office, mal-practices, poor leadership, short-sightedness, lack of initiative etc. My advice for you is= find a better way and seriously, learn the art of healthy and positive assertive and intelligent ways of fostering unity to advance Ghana. It is within your rights to demonstrate your disagreements within the rules and laws of the country' But what you have no authority to do is to give the any government an ultimatum to withdraw any fiscal or economic policy. Anyway you lot are still learning about the wordland life.

The $55million dollars looted by the Mahama NDC appointed BOST team, could have paid for utility bills in this country for perpetuity if that amount was just invested and the returns used solely for utility bills.
But what do we see, the money has, puff, gone up in smoke as a result of thievery by this Mahama NDC gov't.
You don't loot taxpayer funds, and the national purse in such a crass manner, and expect students who don't have means of employment to pay for utility bills, and not when you are looking at having an educated populace and workforce, being a 3rd world developing HDDC country seeking to leapfrog it's development paradigm.
No tertiary student will pay a single dime to such a thieving gov't, because there's enough money being looted by the Mahama NDC family and friends looting brigade to pay utility bills till Armageddon.

Imagine I share a room with a very wasteful colleague, who is going to pay for the bills and what method will be used to determine the bills.
Why don't the govt introduce energy saving and institutions adopting self energy generation projects.
Are students who can't afford it, thrown out or denied the right environment to learn?
This is a pointless project and I can guarantee the negatives far outweighs the positives.
Start sensitizing students to save energy and it will be for the immediate and future good of the nation.

Can anybody tell me why nobody wants to pay for anything but depend on government. Students will be more responsible for utilities if they pay for them. You can't expect government to give you everything free when you don't want government to control your freedom, movement, free speech and more. There is no free lunch anywhere in the world. In a free market society does not depend on government for food, education, utilities, healthcare, transportation etc. in advanced countries students work and go to school. We don't need socialism where government provides everything and controls citizens. Wake up students and be responsible.

I give the students my full support not to pay the utility bills. You should also ask the government to abrogate the northern Ghana free education program. The money for that program should be spread to students all over the country. We are in hard times and families all over Ghana need to be assisted by the government.
