There is the need to make the elections results more transparent to remove doubts and avoid election petitions. I don’t understand why after 58 years after independence we cannot televise the elections results as some advance countries do.
Why can’t the GBC televise the results as they come in to the Strong Room of the electoral commission? Well, you may argue that we don’t have the technology to televise from every constituency in Ghana. But there is availability of speaker telephones everywhere now and they can be amplified to the hearing of everyone. Nigeria was able to do it.
During elections in the advance democracies, what you see on television during the election results is that the Returning Election Officer would mount the platform at the collation centre and declare as follows: “I (then Name), The Returning Officer of ‘N’ constituency certify and declare the total number of votes cast as ‘X’ and the breakdown as follows: Party A; XX votes, Party B; XXX votes, Party C; XXXX votes etc and therefore declare Mr ‘NN’ as the elected member of this constituency”.
Can’t the GBC televise the results with the aid of telephone technology from the Strong Room of the electoral commission to make it more transparent and credible to the electorate? Where will be the room for Electoral Commissioner to manipulate results and the need to petition election results? If any Returning Officer also falsifies any results, they can also easily be found out if their declared results do not tally with their faxed pink sheets and cannot deny unsigned sheets.
Do we need legislation before this can be done? Let’s move forward, let check and balances work and let’s deepen democracy!

We all know that if it was NPP appointing the EC boss, the person would be favourable to NPP. This is natural. So why all this noise?
Let me tell Ndoum and all those who think like him that the next EC boss will certainly be a strong NDC sympathiser. Certainly not a person who has been prominent at rallies but one who will unmistakably decide in favour of NDC in all 50-50 situations at all times. Would NPP do something different?

What you're saying is the truth and the right thing to do but we will never do it because we hate to do anything that's right. There are many other things that we know are the right things to do but we'd rather do what we know to be wrong because we find it more convenient thing to do. What's right we abhor because it's inconvenient. This is the story of our lives, politically, economically, morally and socially. We will not mind doing the wrong thing if we find it a convenient thing to do. My brother, we don't need to re-invent any wheel. We have gold, diamond, bauxite, manganese, crude oil, rivers, evergreen rain forest, lots of sunshine,world's#2 producer of cocoa beans, lots of well educated people and a good education system. All we need to do is copy or bootleg whatever every nation is doing right but it appears all that we ever wanted to do is everything that's wrong and inappropriate. God help us.

Yes,the new EC boss has to be neutral but much more importantly,he has to be a Ghanaian of "the original tribes".Pick the boss from amongst the Gonjas,Gas.Ewes or konkombas bcoz if you pick an ashanti, with all theur usual craftiness and shady dealing then we'll always have unfair elections.Ashantis can't be trusted with such office since any ashanti guy will be in it to enrich himself 1st and foremost. If he has to sell the elections to undeserving "winner" for monetary gain an ashanti will do it bcoz they're raised to be shamelessly greedy. They know no integrity or reputation to uphold its always about money to these evil ashanti tribesmen.

I admire people who speak the facts as they are. Ashantis can't resist temptation (you remember Kufuor confessed to it?) so it is wrong to appoint them to positions of trust. Certainly not as an EC boss!!!

(4) know no integrity or reputation to uphold its always about monetary gain
The 4 points you advanced as the reason not to have an Ashanti in an EC role are very offensive
If I were to take each of the 4 points it perfectly fits the two Ghanaian presidents (Rawlings and Mahama) who have done the most damage to this country since independence and both are not Akans.
Last week we learnt that Rawlings wife owned 15% of a divested State company etc. Everybody knows of Mahama's role in the purchase of the Presidential Jet from Brazil's Embraer
The tribal arguments are not helpful because actions are not exclusive to specific tribes. We are motivated by personal interest and it takes the fear of God to make each of us different as an individual

Kufuor did the Keta Reclamation project, what did the NDC do for us?
Look at our standard of living in the Volta Region. It is the worse in Ghana, meanwhile we have voted en masse and stupidly for the NDC since 1992. What have we got to show for it?

Apart from the NPP every other party supports the 1992 constitution's supremacy. It is only Akufo Addo and his acolytes who are making all the noise about the president should consult him for acceptance of the next EC chair. This is a strategy of the NPP to prepare the grounds for complaint when they lose 2016 elections.
Due to the NPP's ability to fill the air with their noise. Kufuor consulted no other party when Georgina was rewarded with the chief justice seat.

A man was driving along a rural road one day when he saw a three legged chicken running down the road. He was amused enough to drive along side it for a while, as he was driving he noticed the chicken was running 30 mph.
Pretty fast chicken, he thought, I wonder just how fast it can run. So he sped up and the chicken did too! They were now moving along the road at 45 mph!
The man in the car sped up again, to his surprise the chicken was still running ahead of him at 60 mph!!!
Suddenly the chicken turned off the road and ran down a long driveway leading to a farmhouse. The man followed the chicken to the house and saw a man in the yard with dozens of three legged chickens. The man in the car called out to the farmer "How did you get all these three legged chickens?"
The farmer replied, "I breed 'em. Ya see it's me, my wife and my son living here and we all like to eat the chicken leg. Since a chicken only has two legs, I started breeding this three legged variety so we could all eat our favorite piece."
"That's amazing!" said the driver "How do they taste?"
"Don't rightly know, I ain't caught one yet!"
ONE CHICKEN IS NDC
SECOND CHICKEN LEG IS NPP
THIRD CHICKEN LEG IS PPP BUT NDUOM HAS NOT CAUGHT ONE YET TO MAKE HIS COMMENTS.
