Wise counsel goes to all practicing lawyers and not just this new crop. If they take after their seniors as we now know them we are in deep trouble.

Three lawyers and three accountants stood in line to buy tickets for a train ride to the city. The three accountants bought only one ticket between them, while the three lawyers bought one ticket each.
After the men got on the train, one of the lawyers asked one of the accountants, “Why did you only buy one ticket when there’s three of you?” The accountant answered, “We are accountants, and very frugal with our money. Watch and learn.”
As the train’s conductor made his way through the car, all the accountants got up and went into the bathroom. A short while later, the conductor knocked on the door and said, “Tickets please.” The door opened a crack and a hand shot out holding a ticket. The conductor punched the ticket, handed it back and moved on.
The lawyers were amazed! One of them said, “That’s a great trick! We’ve got to try that on the way home!”
On the return trip, the accountants and the lawyers met at the ticket window. The lawyers bought one ticket between them, but the accountants did not buy any.
“How can you all ride the train with no ticket at all?”, asked a lawyer. The accountant answered, “We are accountants, and very frugal with our money. Watch and learn.”
As the train’s conductor made his way through the car, all the lawyers got up and went into the bathroom. After the door shut behind them, all the accountants all got up and went into the bathroom across the aisle. A few seconds later, one of the accountants emerged, knocked on the door to the bathroom where the lawyers hid, and said, “Tickets please!”

All what the so-called Chief Justice or whatever said are just Empty Words", rhetorics.
What controls and systems has she put in place to address these issues? Talk is cheap. Ghanaians only talk but don't know what to do@@

Check the way lawyers in U.K and US and Sweden behave. They do not lord over their clients but work with them to get a better deal. In Ghana lawyers gangs against and some dupe clients through their cleverness.

That is the price for abolishing our own great way of life for an alien one.We are even abolishing traditional marriage. My mum/dad/granddad etc never spend a penny on lawyers because "Ahenfie" was our way of life then.

This is a very goos advice coming from the CJ. But I think more should be done physically to deal with such miscreants rather than mere words which will as usual, fall on deaf ears. There are too many of such characters who think, being a lawyer means being above the laws.If that is the what they think, what about those who taught them? Honestly speaking, majority of our lawyers are just useless bunch of incompetent and corrupt money minded idiots who take money from both sides.I don't want to mention some of them since Ghanaians know them too. Arrogance is ingrained in their genes.

The chief Justice of Ghana's Supreme Court, Ms. Georgina Woods, must explain why her own courts have been used to thwart legal recourse of numerous Ghanaians by Judges on court benches who conspire with lawyers to file frivolous paper work for extension of court dates and or government agents who enter into contracts with private entities knowing darn well approval need to come from parliament to validate those contracts before the courts?
Did it ever occur to the Chief Justice that judges who render outrageous sentences on street level criminals but give light sentences to white color criminals amount to arrogant display of power? Would selective prosecutions not be borne out of arrogance at the office of prosecuting agents? What else can explain the recent cancelation of the entire intra-party elections by the judiciary when it was not outside the law to have rescheduled voting at precincts where legitimate issues were pending adjudication if not but for the arrogance of the courts?

In my opinion, 90% of Ghanaian lawyers are obnoxious and arrogant. They think they are untouchable, and above everyone.
