“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.

He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.

“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”

“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

Akufo-Addo is taking NPP for granted - Nyaho Tamakloe
Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding father of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has dropped a bombshell, suggesting that his party’s 2016 Flagbearer, Mr. Williams Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is not serious about winning the 2016 election to become President.

In an interview with Accra-based radio station, Starr 103.5 FM, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, not mincing words, pointed out that Nana Addo’s stony silence on Osafo Marfo’s alleged ethnically-divisive audio tape recording is not helping matters; and believes that Nana Addo is taking the NPP for granted.

He said, the party’s 2016 Flagbearer, who has made it his stock-in-trade not to condemn party members who claim to be working for him - of such pronouncements- should speak in order to save the party from its continuous stay in opposition.

“Nana Addo, to save this party of ours, must come down: either he distances himself from the statement of Yaw [Osafo-Maafo] or apologises to the people of this country…I personally think he is trying to take us for a ride,” the NPP founder-father is quoted to have said.

Though the former Finance/Youth and Sports Minister under John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration, in a press statement, claimed that the said tape recording has been falsified, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe is of the strongest conviction that the comments alleged to have been made by his colleague could become a hindrance to the electoral fortunes of the party come next year.

“In [the] 2012 elections, we nearly won power, but for some of these statements. We would have won power, [but] similar statements were made by certain people just before the elections and that cost us a lot,” worried Nyaho Tamakloe pointed out.

A voice resembling that of Mr. Yaw Osafo Marfo, during a gathering of party members at Koforidua in the Eastern region, the former Finance and Economic Planning and also former Youth and Sports Minister, was heard saying: “…You have all the resources, but you have no say in the management of your resources, and that is what is happening. Your development depends on the one who has no resources.”

“You can’t say this openly,” he cautioned the Council members of the party’s Eastern regional branch when he met them; but added that they are at liberty to talk about it among Asantes.

“We should protect ourselves, we should protect our income. No one, who is the source of income, the source of revenue, the source of resources, allows another person without those resources the chance [to rule over them].

“It’s never done anywhere in the world. In the world over, it is the group with the most resources that rules and not the other way around.”

However, Yaw Osafo Marfo is accusing those behind the leaked audio tape of scheming (leaking the tape) to destroy his political career - and in all for monetary gains.

“There may be two reasons for anyone to secretly record me: one is to sell the tape for money and two, to mess me up…but of the two, I strongly suspect the monetary profit was the stronger motive,” he said, adding: “This shows how politics in Ghana is strongly coloured by money,” the embattled Osafo Marfo is on record to have said.

But political analysts hold the view that, Yaw Osafo Marfo will save himself from the huge embarrassment if he can produce the original tape recording of what he said exactly at the meeting, now that he wants the world to believe that the tape has been doctored.

NDC is preparing Martin to capture the heart of Ghanaians as the most incorruptible person in the sight of both the NPP and other anti-NDC activists.

When nominations are opened for the flag-bearership race of NDC Martin wll surely contest and Mahama will eventually step down on health reasons to pave way for Martin.
After Martin won the elections he would also pave way for Mahama to come back thereby bringing the Russian style governace between Putin and Medvedev. So NPP should open their eyes wide in support of Amidu.
Though Amidu has been firing salvor at NDC,but he is still a member of the NDC. He has NOT resigned. And this is the testimony of the Grand Sheme

I have lived in Nigeria under Buhari, and the other former rulers including Shagari, General Babangida, a civilian Mr Shonekan,Generals Sani Abacha and Abdulsalam Abubakar. The man is Nigeria's equivavalent of JJ Rawlings. He was tough though he ruled for a very short period. What is Nna's track record. So many clouds over his integrity. Even when the ruling PDP accused him of not having a school certificate, he showed his classmates and also he attended reputable military schools in the UK and USA as records in the Nigerian Army show. Nana should straighten his own records first. Buhari is an honest leader who has shown that he can lead the most populous country of the black race.

A wild Guinea fowl was standing in a field chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree, sighed the Guinea fowl, "but I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients."

The wild guinea fowl pecked at a lump of dung and found that it actually gave him enough strength to reach the first branch of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. And so on.

Finally, after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree, whereupon he was spotted by a farmer who dashed into the farmhouse, emerged with a shotgun, and shot the wild Guinea fowl right out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Ohh you have now resorted to ghanaweb to spread your falsehood. Ghanaaians are now wiser and will not fall for your cheap things. In the 2012 twelve elections a lot of factors were at play but still mahama lost but was wrongfully crowned. Talk of sympathy votes as a result of Atta mills death, Ghanaians then didnot know who Manama really was, the age factor but now our Nigerian bothers have shown us the way that when times are hard we do away with all experimentations. We need matured critical thinkers, well exposed people and critical players on the international stage.
Left for our brothers from the Volta region alone no other party apart from NDC rules ghana. So that they get the chance to push through their foolish and stupid number 9 agenda. Incessantly stocking government and public institutions with their tribesmen, having almost all their tribesmen head government financial and insurance institutions. At times I wonder whether the other tribes have realised what the Ewes are doing. If I may ask are they the only educated people in ghana. Are they brilliant than northerners, Ashanti's, akyems, Fanti's, brongs, nzemas etc. Is it not surprising that ewes in government institutions far exceeds all other tribes combined. Ghanaians our Nigerian brothers have shown us the way its now time for us to follow suit.
