The last I heard about the Granada hotel was that it had been built on a floodway and therefore its license had been revoked because it was going to be demolished and razed to the ground to give way to the flood canal. At the time, the original owners had started massive extension works on the hotel. This is still visible from the main road.
This was several years ago and since then that hotel had not been operating. Actually I was happy about the fact that for once, govt officials had stood their ground in making sure that public safety would not be compromised in favour of the interests of the wealthy capitalist bullies.
What I want to know now is whether the floodway is still within the vicinity of that location and if so, whether this was considered before the intention to build a 12-storey Hilton hotel in that same location?
It would also be interesting to know whether the original owner voluntarily sold it to this so-called chief who a contributor above has denied as an Agona Chief.
Secondly, I also want to know if a 12-storey building, within close-proximity of the Accra international Airport is a wise thing to do and if this plan has been willingly cleared by the Civil Aviation authorities as well as the Planning Authorities of the city.
Strange things are happening in this country.

So long as he is a businessman and not a politician or government appointee, and that he earned his money the hard way through work, that is cool
