  It is only in Ghana would such a dishonorably idiot be on the government pay roll. Professor Mill should be solely blamed for imposing those criminals on us. After Mills found Betty Moulds guilty of judgement debt payments the only thing he could do was to move her to the Education dept to continue her looting. Readers would recall that Betty Mounds was the one who awarded SCHOOL building contracts at a triple price of the existing contract sum of some GH 80,000.00. And this happened at a time when they claim inflation was in the single digits. Could you imargin how foolish these criminal liars were. Kuffour built similar structures with 80,000 at a time when inflation was around 14.8% and under Mills it was 240,000 at a rate of 8.8%. And these buffoons turn around to blame the fall of the cedi on some mysterious dwarfs. I don't blame those African countries that have been ripped apart by civil unrest because if you have such buffoons in power who always turn our local elections into a West Africa one
  by contracting Togolese Trokosis, Burkinabe and Wangaras from La Cote D'ivoire to vote for them, the " Road To Kigare", is sometimes, a likely option to kick their ass from power.

  The Ghanaian authorities must wake up because entertaining the Russian (Mafia) criminals will spell doom for the country. To give them diplomatic passport will also damage Ghana's image abroad and Ghanaian diplomats would not be accorded the respect they deserve in representing Ghana abroad. Moreover, these same criminals would use the diplomatic passport to commit further crimes abroad and damage Ghana's international image. Finally, they will defraud the state and run away to another safe haven.
  
  How did they gain Ghanaian citizenship if they have no blood connection with or longevity of residence in Ghana? Is there a policy in Ghana for foreigners to gain citizenship on the basis of their investment? This is very alarming. Drug barons from South America could come to Ghana, buy citizenship and diplomatic passports to carry on their illegal trade.

  J D, it is not clear what you seem to be complaining about in Kofi Ata's comment. Is it wrong for him to advise the Ghana government to 'wake up' and do the right thing in order to forestall probable acts that would mar the reputation of the country? And does it matter whether he is an NDC sympathizer or not to give such advise? May be since, according to you, the country is neck deep in corruption you want that status quo callously sustained so that the party you support may score some political points. Otherwise I do not see where you are coming from.

  One has to renounce his/her foreign citizenship to be able to hold public office in Ghana but a foreigner can buy a diplomatic passport for just £4000.

  In the past all diplomatic and service passports after issue were kept by the Principal/Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and only requisition and issued out to a holder, when he intended to travel. In any case, acquisition of visas by service or diplomatic passport had, and I believe, still has to be based on an official correspondence from the protocol section of the Ministry.
  
  It would therefore be important to institute the German system , where on return from abroad, there is a box at the airport where all diplomatic passports are put into by the immigration officials and collected by the foreign ministry until the next official travel. This simple measure should bring our all those illegallly holding such passports.

If there is a loop hole in the system, let's fix it and as a matter of urgency and importance make all such issuance a public record and published in our gazette in the name of transparency. Ghanaian identity and record should be taken seriously and be punishable as a treasonable offense by any perpetrators and corrupt public officials who intentionally aide and abet such crimes. You can get away with stealing from Ghana but, let's not let the stealing of a Ghanaian identity go for free. The name Ghana is our birth right and our last hope as a nation if we need anything to hold on to for our future generations.

I don't blame Mahama for his weakness or lack of organizational skills, i blame a cross section of Ghanaians who voted for a man who has no leadership skills to manage a fragile country as Ghana. We have all seen the end results. Mahama is not competent. He functions better when he is told what to do. That is not leadership. At the time the premise of the NPP argument relied on the ability for the nation to ascertain and authenticate who was a legitimate Ghanaian. Can anyone in Ghana and the NPP in particular tell us if Mr. Ramazan is a Ghanaian and how he became one?
  
  Ghana has not been able to shoot straight since 1966 because those who through hatred and inspired by delusional tribal superiority wanted to live in a nation where lawlessness rule the day and the so-called majority tribes could have their love of money trump moral virtues. We have a Ghana that has been corrupt at the government level including, yes the court system, and a public that seek money over morals and wisdom. It is in this stupor that party demagogues in both the NPP and NDC can ignore the log in their own eyes while they point out the speck in the eyes of the opposition. If those who argue in favor of the 1966 coup think Ghana is doing great then we deserve all we are getting and some more. Let us not complain about these unpleasant expose for they come with our acquired freedoms; we should celebrate our display of incompetence and inferior capacity to be self governed.

I experienced that In Vodafone office, I to guy that wouldn't happen before me and was prepared to misbehave so he abandoned the plan, served me after which he attended to the Indianman.

Even though this is not an isolated case, I found it very serious for a country like Ghana entertaining such criminals. The government of president Mahama should do everything possible to bring to light, those who issued this man with the passport and on what conditions. We have not forgotten how families of certain politicians in this country, were using this same passport for drug business.The circumstances are still not known. It is just disheartening to see how Ghana passport is being used by foreigners all over the world.The last time I was in Thailand, hundreds of Nigerians who were stranded there on their way to Japan, were in possesion of our passports. Whiles the legitimate Ghanaians found it difficult to obtain one, foreign criminals get it easily .What kind of people are we? Are we really serious with our country? Because of money and politics, patriotism has completely been thrown to the dogs in this country. The government should do well to tell us how this Russian criminal has access to this very important document. This could not happen in his native Russia. Either foreigners are taking us for granted or we are just unpatriotic.

  I know 4 nigerians holding Ghana passport now living in madina. They told me they paid huge amount of money for it. They are only 2 years in Ghana. One of their friend travel with Ghana passport to Holland recently.
