Is there money to be made by some individuals for going for the more expensive option. Causing financial loss to the state if this option goes ahead should apply

Bringing in these power barges is one thing. Maintaining and servicing them is another issue and one of the weak points within the system. The point was mad clear by Mr. Bever – the Takoradi based thermal plant needs to be revived as soon as possible.

The barges being brought in are to be powered by ordinary crude instead of the light crude which has hitherto been the case. This will invariably make the power generation cheaper.
