"The drug barons are currently targeting Ghana making us a vulnerable nation hence we must toughen our national security at all our Airports. If Ms Ametefeh has been allegedly doing such manoeuvres since 2009 goodness knows how many of such people have used this method just because of their status in society as security around such people have been relaxed. No one can be trusted when it comes to such issues any more as our security is at stake. We should not even allow the VVIP section security to be relaxed so that unscrupulous people take advantage of such freedom afforded to them in the wake of this saga".

The Powers that be should give a serious thought to Kabila's laudable suggestion.BNI should be mandated to monitor the activities of the Police. The Police are so corrupt that on daily basis they use their uniforms to collect one,one Ghana cedi from commercial drivers are share the booty in the barracks with their bosses. This is the stack truth. This is the reality.Everybody knows this.
Is it possible to dissolve the entire Police service and form a new generation of Police Service. If I have my own way I shall dissolve the Police Service,it is useless now.It is corrupt to the core. The police has outlived its usefulness and should be reformed. All they know is money, money, money.Extorting money left right and centre.Who polices the policeman.
For instance in the Kumasi Metropolis where Kumasi Metropolis and under the watchful eyes of COP Kofi Boakye,at 5am Monday to Saturday policemen and women stand at the following places to collect money from trotro and taxi drivers.
1.Aboabo No.1 Junction
2.Manhyia Roundabout near Otumfuo's Palace
3.Prempeh Assembly Hall near Zongo Police Station
4.Bompata near Fante Newtown
5.19Steps at Akwatialine

This is a good idea but it should be done differently. What we must bear in mind, from experiences we have had with the Police in the past, is that the Public needs protection from the Police as the Police have used their position as law enforcenent personnel to carry out their dubious activitues. This can be done by setting up an Independent Police Complaints Commission which will deal with cases the public has against the Police. Is it not absurd that the citizen is expected to lodge complaints about the police to the same organisation? This equally applies to other organisations like Customs, the Judiciary, Inland Revenue, etc where we need independent bodies to watch them. If we are able to do this I am sure corruption will reduce to the minimum for it is of no use people, especially politicians, preaching or complaining without action being taken to eliminate it.

Nee i wholeheartedly agree to your suggestion.Independent Police Complaints Commission will solve the problem of endemic corruption in the Police Service.
I hope the Commission will be so powerful and firm in their core duty to dismiss corrupt Police personnel from the noble profession.
Nee it is unimaginable to see policeman and policewoman openly demanding money from commercial drivers. They do this with impunity and to the full glare of the general public. They do this on daily basis without conducting any checks on vehicles.Just to use their uniforms to collect money and share with their superior officers in the office.
How can the public report such incidences to the corrupt superior police officer in the office.
Nee ,whose responsibility to form the Independent Police Complaints Commission. I am surprised President Mahama has failed to act decisively on corruption in the Police Service. At least it should not be tolerated for the police to storm the streets at 5am everyday just to collect money from commercial drivers. This must be stopped immediately.Thank you Nee for the advice.

What happened to Police scandal recruitment is a disgrace to BNI in the performance of their duty for the Nation. Looking at the fast way BNI goes in to arrest opposition members who say something which is not palatable to the ruling Gov't. This scandal has exposed the BNI as NDC Party Agents not National Agents. How comes that some criminals could organized such Police recruitment in the Country and the BNI says they didn't get any hint about it to arrest the culprits. Oh! Mother Ghana; where is the security of your children?

Or is it as a social commentator he must say something if he has nothing? I think the root causes of some of these problems must be found out and dealt with honestly devoid of political coloring than another security organization made of Ghanians prone to corruptions to "police" the police. In which way?
