I hope Mahama and his team learn something very critical in the advancement of our Country, Ghana:
1. That there is 0 (Zero) corruption in Botswana
2. That the DeBeers (diamond company) operating in Botswana was forced by the government and people of Botswana to move its refining branch from Europe to Botswana thereby increasing the general economic benefits of Diamond mining and processing to the people of Botswana. This has created jobs, increased tax base and control of diamond production.
Unlike Botswana, Ghana and their leaders (NDC and NPP)have given Ashanti Goldfield to AngloGold for 50 years with 3% share of total production. We don't even know how much is taken from the ground and sent to S. Africa for refining.
3. that Nkrumah is hailed and held in high esteem and lots of landmarks and streets are named after Nkrumah in Botswana.
The reason is that they (Batswana - people of Botswana) have put into practise all that Nkrumah proposed. They practise Nkrumaism yet Ghanaians have rejected Nkrumah or used his name in vain. No wonder Botswana is miles and miles ahead of Ghana in terms of socio-economic indicators. GHana has been recolonised and poverty has engulfed about 98% of the people except politicians and Pastors. What a shame!!!
I wish Mahama had taken all his appointees to Botswana, for them to learn from the Govt and people of Botswana(Batswana).

In Botswana, government ministers are not given cars, they are transported to the office by cars provided by their respecctive ministries. Even if the car arrives at the door of the minister and he is not ready, the car leaves and the minister has to find his way to the office. The streets are as clean as a mirror and the citizens are not asked to clean the streets every month, someone is paid to do the job and they make sure they do it. Lights do not go off even for a minute. There is no corruption there and there is discipline in the society and members of the government do not use insultive language on the elderly and the opposition. Mahama, there are a lot to learn, and please when you come back, implement it here and Ghana will be a better place to live in.

Now pleading poverty in all areas and lacking . Having to lower herself to learn from countries we termed backwards in all respect. Hope the Education Minister really learns from the trip to put a stop to under the tree form of formal education in our country. There is no free nursery education until a child reach 6 yrs and even that if that child parents have no money means that child would never step in to any form of formal education. How then could the children of Ghana compete with global competition.
