Self determination or independence denotes that you must be in charge of your own socioeconomic development. The west which we say are our development partners have ushered praise on us a been democratic and a fast growing economy. They said that it means that they are good economic partners. However the current power and water crisis proved that we do not have good economic partner. The matter may be that either they want to return us into the stone age or they are bereft of ideas of how to solve the two problems we stated above. As the case is everywhere in the world as soon as the economy goes haywire the adviser, rather than owning up to the failure quickly point to the advice as being the cause effects of the advice he gave. Let us trust Ghanaians with the socioeconomic problems because no one else will come from somewhere to solve them for us.
