THERE WAS EVEN AN ATTEMPT BY ATTA MILLS TO poison football clubs with politics just for the SELFISH INTEREST of the USELESS NDC PARTY.
Everything that units us as a peaceful nation is under attack by the USELESS NDC PARTY. Before they divide Ghana and leave us in shreds VOTE THE USELESS NDC PARTY OUT IN 2016.
We have lived peacefully without any TRIBAL OR RELIGIOUS POLITICS before the USELESS NDC PARTY WAS FORMED and their manifesto signed with blood. We don't need any division in Ghana. WE ARE INTER-MARRIED, AND WE ARE ONE PEOPLE. NDC IS DANGEROUS, VOTE THEM OUT IN 2016.

Yes,we made mistakes right from the day of independence. What and where did it go wrong?.Instead of teaming up with our colonial masters to master the administration of countries we chose to confront them and fight them on every turf.I know there are so many who still believe in this approach but we must go back to history and learn what happened after the 2nd World War,the Americans and the Russians saw the wisdom in capturing the German scientists who helped build the German war machinery that had some outstanding weapons at that time. They realised that these scientists could be of great importance in nation building.Contrary to this way of thinking we(Ghanaians and Blacks) would have captured them and kill them for the simple reason that they invented the machines and guns to support the Germans and therefore are still enemies. We became independent without any prior knowledge of ruling a country and thought that just being populist and standing on platforms to shout(Freedom) will do the job.The result is what we are seeing today.

The very first mistake was a bunch of soldiers overthrowing Nkrumah, PERIOD. After that. they did not know what to do or how to run a country. Ghana's down fall started from that day, followed by vision-less leaderships ever since. Busia was also an abject failure, someone the Mate-Meho thought was an Oxford professor so he could do something turned out to be a book-long. Nana's father a renowned lawyer just sat back as President and puffed on his cigar with a smile on his face. I sometimes wonder if the cigar was laced with some drug. They dropped all the on-going projects to rot just because Nkrumah started them. Ghana has never been able to stand on his feet since then.

Ghana should elcte only individuals who have already worked their socked off and built their own properties to become MP's . As electing or appointing those with assest leads to greed and corruption to the highest level as we have in Ghana right now. Men often think having several girlfriends means wealth but what they fail to know is that when one is dying the decision makers become many so definitely you will die early leaving your loot to be shared anyhow by your concubines. It has happened in the past and is still happening. Look at Woyome and Humado from a poor background . There are many more of this kind looting Ghana and get their deputy to join in the looting by doubling project budgets and sharing it at home without preying eyes watching over them.

NO, Rawlings was not the problem. The Problem is Ghanaians!
Let's assume the coup that brought him was a mistake: WELL, he was in already, shouting accountability and corruption on top of his voice. All we should have done as a nation was help.
The guy was on farms to cheer and cart cocoa for transport, he helped on railways, got in gutters to evacuate stinking silt, helped in underwater river researches...
Then things changed; We wanted the military out, we wanted democracy. so people, mostly the opposition, campaigned against him and his regime in the West, helping governments asphyxiate the country. We cheered on and had the democracy. But, looking back, in retrospect, it was a mistake.
As soon as the military left, once people knew Rawlings had lost grip of the power he had, people he chose to work with began to misbehave. It created a big rift in his government. That was the resurgence of corruption in Ghana, and it came with force. This misbehavior and indiscipline just refuse to go. Now, it is almost impossible to stop it without recourse to some brute force.
When Kufuor came, his presidency was hailed with hope and expectations. This was because we were tired with the immutable lethargy, corruption and redundant administrative errors. But Kufuor's own corruption which started the very day he got elected turned out to be worse.
Now, you will find yourself in a big trouble in Ghana if you denounce someone's thuggery and corruption. You may be exposing yourself to violent retribution and violent death.
Finally, it would be bad, too bad to try to blame Rawlings alone. To me, he tried his best, we didn't help him.

Sorry, mate.
Had Rawlings allowed Limann to rule for four years, and, had Rawlings contributed by 'shouting' his accountability, we would not have been here.
Rawlings ruled for 19 years, not because of any developmental achievement, but because Ghanaians, in their cowardice, allowed him to loot State assets, against his own anti-corruption campaign.
I wonder why we still close our eyes to his crimes, and pretend he did us any good. What I hoped was for Ghanaians to look at what the man did, as critically as we do to the misdeeds of Kufuor.
But one thing Kufuor and Mills did not do, is to seek constitutional amnesty, for 'all their good deeds' for the nation

Sorry mate, one thing rotten about Ghanaians and which continues to threaten the survival of everything we have including our values, integrity, economy is our denial that we all are completely responsible for what remains of the once vibrant star of Africa. This is what is going to destroy us. We like to blame everyone else except sorry ourselves.
Blunt, in fact, “We would not have been here” in the first place if the first coup d’état hadn’t happened. Going by your takes, I know you will hail the 1966 coup because as most of you so fondly like to assert, Nkrumah “was a dictator” and needed to be dethroned even if it meant undermining him and selling him to the ugly west which has destabilized most of the rest of the world if any country’s ideological penchant doesn’t go their way.
Starting my post, I stated Rawlings’ coup was an error though it was not a clear assertion on my part. But it didn’t subtract the underlying meaning inherent in that phrase.
I have read several times your posts here which invariably seem to revolve around Rawlings as if it were some personal obsession, and while at it, you shamefully try to wrap under the carpet other very pertinent issues relating to ills that undermine the country’s success.
It is sometime tiresome to have to continue to repeat the same refrains about a coup, meanwhile, being in full democracy right now, things are at their very worst. Do you remember when Acheampong banned Pioneers’ hit “Everyday” because it said things were getting worse, when in fact, the Jamaican Reggae group didn’t sing the song against Kutu’s regime? But things were already degrading then, and he had just refused to pay the West for moneys loaned to Ghana in a bashful tantrum completely devoid of sense. Right now, things are worse than those days and the military is in their Baracks!
The coup that deposed Limann was spearheaded by Northerners. Rawlings was invited in. But looking back it doesn’t matter anymore. Limann had been in power for some time, and though he was a very good statesman himself, his entourage was very corrupt. This was because those at the helms of affairs were idiots, they were uncultured Ghanaians who believe in self-aggrandizements instead of clear development policies or programs of state. Bekoe and de Graft Johnson behaved as if Limann didn’t exist. In any case, the future of that government would have ended in the kind of ruthless and ignoble cul-de-sac we have now if you extrapolated the course of the massive corruption that immediately ensued.
Rawlings was abducted and locked up in Aburi for nothing, and Kojo Tsikata’s car as well as others who were in the government before were always tailed (Tsikata’s car was crashed intentionally twice already), just because those in the new administration craved a clear way for corruption and wanted these guys out of the way.
To cut matters shot, the greatest crime is those to the state when resources are pilfered by government officials and those responsible are not in jail because judges receive money and compromise sentences.
Have you ever heard of Senegal before? It’s about 4 years since the President Wade was defeated and Macky ushered in. The former President’s son is still in jail and now being tried for corruption and embezzlement. There are others facing similar sentences.
Actually, Senegal has an unprecedented rice production last year 2014. This is a clear manifestation of a country trying to get over the waves. Ghana is several times richer than Senegal!
It’s time we stop blaming others and face our own greed and lack of resourcefulness. Rawlings is not in power yet, even very little companies like State transport are incapable of being managed. I am not talking about CEPS, Ports, VRA, ECG; nothing is going on well.

Yes, I have problems with Jerry, not as a person, but because he has absolutely no right to play a moral judge. He should keep his mouth shut, instead of condemning those he perceives have stolen 'more' State assets than he did.
Did he not openly claim that he had information (tapes?) to incriminate Kufuor in the murder of the Ya Naa Yakubu Andani? And why did he cow down when he was finally supposed to deliver the tape?
Yes, I am angry about it, because he did not use the opportunity offered by the National Reconciliation Court to pacify victims of the abducted Judges and the ex Military Officer, but rather defiantly satisfied the "JJ, JJ ..." chanting mob.
Such a person has no moral right to accuse his successor of complicity in the Ya Naa case, with the facts and evidence at hand at that time.
Why is he suddenly unable to see the mess we are in now? As compared to the Kufuor or Atta-Mills' era? Why is he unable to say a word "about CEPS, Ports, VRA, ECG; ..."
