What was the NDC admin thinking when they let someone with zero knowledge of management to be in charge. Don't blame me I did not vote for Mahama!

This story has lingered around for a while, and we are now facing the reality. Mr. Sylvester Mensah has kept his position even when his organization was failing. Why are people receiving salaries in an unproductive institution? Healthcare is undoubtedly expensive and the nation has to find a means to fund it. The NHIS was an excellent idea for the nation, however, it must be sustained. We are often quick to politicize the situation and blame a political party or the president. This takes away the responsibility of the one who is directly associated with the problem, which in this case, will be Mr. Mensah. The good people of Ghana will need some explanations from Mr. Mensah. He needs to tell the people what went wrong and what he did to fix it. He needs to be held accountable for the poor performance of the NHIS. The people of Ghana paid Mr. Mensah to do a job, and evidently he has failed horribly. Requesting for an answer by the people of Ghana is therefore not too much to ask. Mr. Mensah please explain what happened, refund the money we paid you or go to prison. We still need healthcare but we are not as wealthy as you are to afford your healthcare costs. Mr. Mensah, you have the means to pay for your healthcare in any part of the world, but we don't.

For NHIA to work, we have to get the private sector involved,so that there can be some checks and balances, ie claim submissions has to be verified and vetted. We all know that anything wholy government never works. Anyone who does not agree with this stand must be living on the planet Jupiter. Over the years corruption has slowly but surely eroded and good intentions of government, not only in Africa, but surely more pronounced. We can cry wolf all we want, the problem will get worse unless we change course.
We need competent people running affairs. Right now we dont. A year from today, things will be worse. I am ready to bet on it!
