Tsatsu Tsikata's plan of keeping THE COMMANDING HIGHTS in the Oil find to Ghana was callously dismantled by the Kufuor Administration because corruption and craft selfishness. Mr. Tahir Hammond needs to be commended for boldly coming out with this confession.

Ghana is the only Oil producing country that is getting less than 15 percent of the total revenue accruing to the Nation all because of corruption and selfishness.

It is not enough to only concede his team made mistakes with our Oil deals, just so he could sound honest and claim some moral high ground. He should have given the details of those errors and how they translate into $ terms. It is then that folks can fairly compare the real cost of those errors versus the cost of those of the NDC's that Mr. Hammond has been bellowing about for the past few weeks.

Interestingly, he never mentioned how the original bid for drilling the Oil went to the Kosmos. Folks are scared off by certain elements in NPP on the issue of how the main Oil Contract was assigned. We must not shy away from criticizing our Political sides when mistakes are made on issues that jeopardize the whole Citizenry and our posterity.

We should boldly acknowledge, for instance, the fact that sole sourcing has persistently been one huge gaping vulnerability in our Economy via which massive corruption, involving hundreds of Millions of Dollars, has been perpetrated.

Once one Administration assigns a big Contract under dubious circumstances, especially favoring some of its known cronies, subsequent Administrations of opposing Parties see that as an excuse to also repeat similar methodology to award Contracts to benefit their favorites or members.

There arouses a certain justification for equalization to unethically, if not illicitly, enrich the Politicians and their cronies at the expense of the Nation. I could see how both the NPP and NDC are culpable in our failure to curb Corruption in the Country. Their current match of trading epithets of ineptitude and Corruption only manifests their frantic efforts to regain and retain control of the process to loot us. Period! No new commitments have been given the Public of ensuring our Resources would be best managed by either side.

I wish the Panel on this discussion had boldly dealt with that process of awarding National Contracts and its lack of transparency.

I am afraid, so long as incumbent Administrations could find justification for operating covertly, when it comes to procurement and award of Contracts for huge Projects, Ghana would continue to suffer financial losses and resource misallocation.

done some 40-50 years ealier, the period during which he walks in DWAKOTO.
There were all kinds of attempts in rewriting the History of the OIL discovery, but when the age of the actual discovery was revealed, the ARCH criminals got panicked and the original language to aid the STEALING phased out, and the new 'story' is still on a respirator; Ex-Pres Kufuor is quiet and his 'boys', the partners in the crime, are lipped tight, if not in hiding!
The above group of the criminals, if they can not find a place in NSAWSAN, at least deserves a visit to TESHIE. Our future had been compromised and it would take 'decades' to make up for the lost years - factually, years lost can never be made, and LIES shall be on our shoulders for life.
