Nobody will stop Sunday Church service in any school, the government can go to hell with that nonsense, the schools have been like that before all the officials were born and was like that when they went to school without anybody complaining,we cannot allow some very, very, very few in the society to turn our schools to jungle schools by doing what they like.
What will happen if animists or Voodoo people also start saying they have constitutional right to wear their outfit to school, what will happen if Presbyterians in Catholics Schools start saying they will not go to morning devotion because they are not Catholcs and vice versa, what will happen when majority of the students in the government schools decide not to attend morning worship with the excuse that they have constitutional rights not to attend or say those schools have no right under the constitution to organize morning or evening worships?
The creation of the constitution is not to encourage indiscipline in the country,it is not there to break existing school rules.
The government or the political parties can create the so constitutional schools to allow the students to do what they like, but with the existing schools we are behind the Churches and the GES,no room for that lawlessness in the country.

The muslim were also enjoying the Christian education without complaining,so what has happened all of a sudden that muslims now want school rules to favour them.Arabians, fathers of islam, never gives assylum to muslims refugees let alone Christians. They never brought education to Ghana until recently, yet muslims are paying europeans back with evil for being host to them.Give them all sorts benefits. Today muslims want to introduce sharia in Europe, because they think they have gain grounds by training and joining ISIL to wage a war in infidel europe esp France,Denmark and UK are being hit by integrating Islam. Now Autria, has stop all muslim funding from outside Austria, just to control their activities. How Uk and France could have been smart earlier,it seems too late for them.....being soft to muslims should never happen in Ghana. They must be told where they belong peacefully and enjoy the Christian integration or go back to their ancestral home,Mali,Burkina and Niger mostly. The real Ghanaian muslims, mostly in Tamale, will not make such an uncouth demands.

1) Our school days started from sundays till thursdays, that means we the christians had no chance to attend to our churches on sundays. 2) Prayers at school morning devotions were recited in Arabic language, the Islamic prayers from the Koran and we were all forced to learn it in order to be able to join in the recitals and everything was alright with the educational authorities b´cos our parents chose to enroll us in that school .

These schools were solely funded by the missionaries before independence, but Nkrumah thought that was a way of making education available. He quickly built the Ghanases technincal and sectecs all over in addition to existing mission schools. These religious authrities agreed to accept the money, maintain their names but the schools should be run by the GES but they would have limited involvement in the administration of the schools. All the Revs who started the schools were allowed to stay on and after that were replaced by Ghnaian teachers who are members of their faith.

It's sad our politicians have descended so low in trying to reduce all public policies to the realms of elections and sycophancy.
Am Catholic and rightly so but tolerant of other religions. Why must missions schools be dragged into this debate in the 1st place? It's an insult to our sensibilities as Christians and Catholics to have moslems induce governments to deter us from our mission and principles. The day we allow this to take effect, these schools would lose their value and be better closed. I guess this is what you get with a corrupted bogus so called computerized placement system where people get placed in schools against their wise. For why should the government be selecting schools for our kids to attend? If this is the problem, then my dear Moslem friends, the next time you ward is posted to a Christian school, just back out an seek placement in Islamic secondary school of choice- simple and short. Or go to one of the 100% government funded liberal schools and experience the havoc they would do your child. If you go to Rome, do as Romans.
Kudos to the Bishops, I expect more from you- take a hardline against stupid empty threats.

Lets look at their strong hold in Mecca for example, They don't allow churches and they dont tolerate Christians, in fact, confess christ and your head will vacate your shoulders. conversely, there are mosques everywhere in Rome.

You don't know nothing and are not even prepare to learn. Now, listen to this, Ghana is not and i repeat Ghana is not a christian nation, but rather a secular country. Nobody is asking mission schools for any religious favour. In fact they have every right to set up rules and regulations that they want. But if that so call mission school is now under government, then they have no business forcing one faith on the other period. There are a lot of Muslims schools around and nobody will ask the students to attend mosque on Friday or early mornings as per their faith.

When the missionaries in the colonial days established the mission schools, the schools were PRIVATE institutions and they were intended to propagate Christianity. After independence and currently, those schools receive government subvention in order to run, therefore they have become PUBLIC institutions. Ghana's public institutions are not for the propagation of religion; they are for education toward national development. And every citizen of the country should have free and unencumbered access to any school in the country. No discrimination. Even the pope is open to inter-faith co-existence and he has accepted gay people. The Catholic order in Ghana is being fundamentalist. The government should withdraw subvention to the religious-affiliated schools and let them revert to purely private institutions -- then they can turn the schools into seminaries if they like. The government can then use the subvention money to set up purely sectarian schools to accommodate all Ghanaians including Catholic wards if they want.

Today if Christians across the country decide to close down their educational and health institutions the Ghana government will not get the money to fill the gap that would be created. Please be bold to tell us that the NDC government is soliciting assistance from the OIC( Organization of Islamic Countries) so need to meet this conditions in order to get those monies. General Ibrahim Babangida did the same thing in Nigeria some time ago and plunged Nigeria into chaos. I hope NDC is not trying to do the bidding of OIC which will be very disastrous. You should know that Christian organizations bring a lot of money to Ghana but they don't tie it to Christian communities. In fact they build schools and sink boreholes in Zongos and other Muslim communities. On the contrary, Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran send money to Ghana and restrict it to the building of mosques, and boreholes only in Muslim communities. What is more segregation than this.

OIC means Organization of Islamic Countries. They have member nations across the globe and Prez Mahama is seriously working hard to send Ghana to OIC's Observer Status so that he can get some funding to buy votes in the Zongos and other Muslim communities since such funds are only allowed to be spent in such places. One of the conditions needed to qualify to the OIC Observer Status is to scrap mission schools. Ghanaians must be careful since a similar thing happened in Nigeria under the military regime of Gen Babangida and it brought a lot of chaos in that country and collapsed their secondary school education. Ghanaian Catholic Bishops should please contact Bishop Jatau of Kaduna State of Nigeria on how to deal with some of these cases.

If the government wants more secular schools they should just establish them and name them SCHOOL OF NO RELIGION. I think my observation right. What were the comments from all these bishops when ex-president Kufuor advocated for no religious education in our schools I think our church leaders have awoken from their sleep. Enough of dreaming or being adamantly, complacent. Religious education has a role to play so far as the moral and social codes discipline is concern. I strongly believe that religion must not be used as a means of indoctrination and denial of rights to benefit from the resources of our communities. Why should a Presbyterian, Methodist, Catholic or a Muslim schools deny me education because I don't belong to their religions. After all their schools are funded partly by we, the tax payers of our country

Muslims in Ghana should go to school in Saudi Arabia everyday and come back home and no one cares about that. Who forced them to attend mission schools in Ghana and despite the school under government control, imagine these schools were not set up initially, where will we be?
Muslims always love to push their agenda on people and sooner, they will demand a separate homeland. Al-Shabab in Somalia started on a premises like this and so is Abu Sayaff in the Philippine and a lot others. We are sick and tired of Muslims complaining about anything that is not in their favor.
They should stop attending mission school and who cares about that? They complaining about devotion in schools and removing their hijab for passport photographs etc. If you cannot remove your hijab to take passport picture, how can your true picture be taken to represent you?
We have to use commonsense in anything that we do and stop following that satanic ideology of given seventy seven virgins to Muslim men and what about the ladies? Are they going to have 77 men as well?

Muslims should not be hypocrites. They should be real and accept the status quo.

If you go to Saudi Arabia they will tell you is an Islamic Nation I do not know how Christian schools are treated over there. Moslems faith must be respected but the fact is Ghana is a Christian Nation period.

Christians or moslems are the problems to this world we leave in today. I don't see any dodemocracy in this world where leaders any governments preach about.
I ask a clear question what will the church gain if 4 or 9 students don't attend the church stuff. I guess nothing. and this 4 & 9 students i don't think they churches made them not pay school fees, or maybe this 4&9 students are from chad, infact no; we have to understand that we have moslems in Ghana and they must be respected so far as they pay tax and they're Ghanaians too. I said this because the teachers are pain by the state not by the church.
other peaceful example, All Ghanaians know that the northern part of the country are mostly moslems but the are missionary schools all over. Which are the for decades been well faction then new schools or islamic schools. The problem is one corruption. Nothing new in Ghana factions then the old one you know it and i do.
Mr. Bishop go and sit down call back to Rome or Vatican City and tell them blacks are wise now we are not going to fall on this trap that we want peace in Ghana and the let the corrupt leaders at least understand there is a need to balance this human rights of moslems or any other person who don't believe in church stuff. Do you people know what infact you can suck me so i can have fun this the only peace i wanna. Jesus was a black man change to white so folks can continue to waship whites. come on you are black you suppose to be smiling by now but you still talking of religion fuck that.

This is pure NDC tactics to divide our dear country for cheap political gain. Christians in Ghana have lived peacefully with our moslem brothers without any rancour but when you have a president and a whole political party stoking other religious bodies/tribes against one another then we should as a nation call the president to order for some of his reckless statements. Most of our schools practice non-denominational morning devotions and that has always been the norm without any complaint so why now? only NDC can answer my question and they must be ashamed of themselves.

They will be held responsible should any religion related tension happened to that peaceful Ghana in the name of boko haram, alqaida or isis (isil). This is not a time to create room for this tension. Catholic Religion as an Institution knows better than that and is doing a disservice to itself. For more than half a century, Catholic schools had educated millions of children with no problem. Why this artificial creation now?

So sad!! These are the people who sacrificed their resources for the school you are now trying to destroy. Bishop Osei Bonsu looks better than your blind-like Chief Imam.
Pray your so call Bishop will even make the chief Imam's age, and if he's lucky enough to get that far then you can compare him FOOL

ayariga, seidu danaah, fuseini, ras mubarak etc they are fighting for the muslems in disguise. christians should wakeup and fight against this bokoharam ...
