What did you say??? Ghanaians mourned when Busia was overthrown - and that same situation occured when Limann was overthrown? Where were you? How old are you?
For your information, Busia, perhaps much more than any other head of state of Ghana or even Mahama, was/is the most despised and disrespected leader on record in Ghanas history.
Many months before his eventual overthrow, market-women along the Kaneshie market road and Accra Central would rush to the roadside upon hearing the distant siren of the motorcade transporting Busia to work from his Odorkor residence. They would hoot at him, jeer at him, insult him, pelt his motorcade with bananas, tomatoes, oranges and anything they could lay hands on. Some would even bare their ample buttocks at his motorcade as a sign of gross disrespect and the ultimate insult.
As a result, Busia was moved to complain to the full house of Parliament in his shrill falsetto voice that, he doesnt know what he has done to the market women of Accra but any time he is passing they shout at him with aspersions such as "Busia onaa bu agbo and Busia onye .....".
Needless to say, when the coup against him eventually took place, it was like a carnival atmosphere everywhere in Ghana.
I am saying this not only because I dislike traitors, terrorists and imperialist house-niggers, but because for obvious reasons, any coup anywhere in Africa is bound to enjoy spontaneous support. If the coup against the greatest African could muster crowds onto the streets in support, then believe me, any coup in Ghana will indeed enjoy considerable support.
Finally, what is it about you Danquasiris and Busia sympathizers that makes you always tend to turn history upside down and inside out? Is it some kind of mental condition or what?

What a funny thing to read. Dr Busia was never unpopular at all. There was freedom of speech and people enjoyed the banter. Busia was a central person that led the recovery of Ghana's Economy with sound economic policies and agrarian based rural development. He was very good and led a most efficient government. He had supported the NLC to stabilise the society with good policies and programmes including civic responsibilities and restoration of democracy after 15 years of corruption and communism. Acheampong said he had planned to do the coup 5 months into the able government. The short period of Busia's policies bore fruit for Acheampong's early years in government. You have your own jaundiced opinions based on flamboyance and euphoria of 'wonkye di' CPP government of Nkrumah, whose overthrow, was on the other hand far well celebrated than Busia's coup. People rejoiced for months when Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown. The songs are still etched in memory of witnesses. Hmm

Months or a year or so before your hero, Busia, was overthrown, I witnessed an incredible demonstration by workers against the government. There were thousands of workers organized by the TUC who poured into town and, as they marched, they were chanting: "Busia ne tun, akoko ne tun, peh-peh-peh" (Busia's arse, the hen's arse, exactly the same).
That, my friend, is a true reflection of how most people felt about the rat, Busia. You can still concoct stories about this most hateful, vindictive, vengeful and tribalistic man who brooked no opposition and came to destroy our progress - the effects of which we are suffering from today.
What rural development did Busia bring to Ghana? Today even after 8 years of Danquah-Busia rule, foreign NGOs now come to Ghana to build public latrines for the rural folk! Busia vehemently opposed the building of the Akosombo dam. Imagine what Ghana would be like in these dumsor days without the dam! And look at all the properties built by Nkrumah that the NPP (as well as the NDC) came and looted! Thank Nkrumah for having created wealth for you people to steal!

And what is it about you Nkrumaists that make you to lie, distort and propagandize to deceive unsuspecting folks? Of course for undue political advantage over your rivals. Old habits never die so you're still pushing doggedly forward.
The pathological liars you were, you guys used to tell the rural folks whom you knew were very vulnerable and naive because of illiteracy which was widespread at the time that "Danquah calls himself a doctor but he doesn't know how to use the hypodermic needle". That is the handiwork of unconscionable villains and propagandists.
Those market women you are so proud of were Nkrumaism acolytes. who had not recovered from the rude shock of Nkrumah's overthrow and yes, taunted Busia whenever they had the opportunity. Busia being the dyed-in-the-wool democrat that he was, ignored and pardoned the women's reprehensible behavior. What do you think would have been the fate of these irresponsible and repugnant women if they had done this to Nkrumah?
George Hutchful, a former Mfantsipim Assistant School Prefect (1963-1965) heckled Busia at Legon but the PM instructed his security personnel to release him without any charges. What would your egocentric and power-drunk Nkrumah have done? Your sincere guess is as good as mine.
I was a third year student at Mfantsipim School when Nkrumah was overthrown. You cannot compare the sheer rapture and the spontaneity of support for that coup that overthrew Nkrumah to that of Busia. Busia's overthrow took the population by surprise and people had mixed feelings abiut it. It's not very clear why Busia chose Kutu Akyeampong, another Nkrumah protege as head of the Presidential Guard but it was a judgemental error that proved to be his undoing. Stop airbrushing history because some of us who witnessed this part of our history are still alive and kicking.

Dr. SAS, why don't you spill it all once and for all exactly why you have taken to this low to spew such despicable personal insults on Nkrumah?
Even the most direct family members of his arch foes like Busia and Danquah spare us the horrible epithets you dump on Nkrumah. You have sadly slipped way down beyond the bowels of political indecency to smear yourself with grotesque putrescent morass, turning this bashing of Nkrumah into a personal duel.
Your incredulous turpid characterization of Nkrumah would have been more effectively used against him by the Danquah's and Busia's apparatchiks long ago in the heat of their mutual feuds, if any of it were truly applicable to Nkrumah.
I am shocked that someone like you with all your lofty academic and social stature could stoop this low. More, may I ask whether folks who deprecate themselves as utterly physically ugly as you fessed up about yourself are often as virulently unpleasant and viciously hateful as you have shown yourself to be?
How about the other pit cal leaders you know? Are they all saintly, perfect humans with none of the sociopathic attributes you lined up for Nkrumah?

He is as dishonest as the 'DR' title he slaps on his name. He's an ingrate who should have been denied the basic health care and education but rather left to the childhood diseases that killed many babies in Africa. Nkrumah's magnanimity is the reason this insufferable toad continues to write nonsense. After all without Nkrumahs schools and health care guess where he will be. No where. If by some cruel luck he had survived the childhood diseases he will not be anywhere near here. He'll be a a bushman with polio or hernia trudging through the mud of Ashanti bekwai or whatever backward region he comes from. Thanks to Nkrumah this monkey learned to read and write. And is now a revisionist par excellence! This monkey got an opportunity to travel to the USA from an airport built by the same man he traduces. This monkey calls himself a Ghanaian instead of a bushman from brong or where ever the hell he comes from. He now identifies with the red, gold and green with the black star instead of responding to monkey calls and hoots from the bushes of the native forest. Such is the ingratitude of this ape masquerading as educated being. He can now live in texas without being lynched thanks to the struggle of black leaders including Nkrumah. @Kojo T: Gee! do you have to meet someone to criticize the person? Even those of us who had personal relationships with Nkrumah due to our family history can be objective and criticize/praise him. My father was one of the few CPP folks who was faithful to Nkrumah to the end, one of my relatives was in Nkrumah's security and only returned to Ghana from Guinea after Nkrumah's death. My father was instrumental in getting Acheampong to bring Fathia back -- although he was disappointed later on when Fathia started "fraternizing" with members of the government in a way that was not expected, to put it a nice way. My father was also hoping that Nkrumah could return to Ghana at the time of Acheampong's coup but he was too ill to do that.

Had the idiot Akyeampong not staged his senseless coup, the rural areas of Ghana would be really developed today and we wouldn't have Sodom and Gomorrah and other wretched ghettos like that all over the place. There probably wouldn't be that many 'Northern'girls being "Kaya Yei" in Accra or rural boys selling dog chains either!
Ever heard of "Ghananisation of University Lecturers?" It was Busia's idea. When he took office about 65% of the lecturers in our three universities were foreigners being paid, in part at least, in foreign currency which the state did not have.
All three universities at the time could only take about 3500 students a year. Busia changed all that with the loan scheme, which selfish people like PV , Saarah-Mensah and Ibn Chmabas opposed. Today, it is that policy that has enabled some dirt poor Ghanaians to access university education. The records are there. Get knowledge and stop these worthless lies. They do not do anything for Ghana!

You must be kidding us with those comments!
We must say it is a bit presumptuous for you to attempt to tell us how old we might be. What has age got to do with our our proposition - that Busia's regime saw a lot of people vacate Ghana?
When one engineers almost a 45% devaluation of a national currency, do you expect people who can vacate, to stay put!
Recently, there was an essay on Ghanaweb about housing during Busia regime, and how it was a massive failure.
Further, how many of the 3 universities were constructed during Nkrumah's regime, those that Busia added to, by way of student bodies? How many universities did Busia constuct?
And it looks like we have our history backward! Maybe you forget about free education for all people Northern, initiated by Nkrumah, that it was that program that now allows you to talk about "many", instead of ""a sea" 'Northern'girls being "Kaya Yei"", and then some.
"Ghananisation of University Lecturers"?
That one must take a lot of wisdom, advance planning, COURAGE, and selfless devotion to the idea of a Nation greater than One solitary individual!!!!!!
Further, since Busia was a planning member of the NLC, and became Prime Minister, what after all is the difference between his importance to himself, and his importance to Ghana?
Finally, maybe the irony is completely lost to you, to say "Had the idiot Akyeampong not staged his senseless coup...."
Well, well, well!!
That, KKO, is the whole point about Nkrumah's letter to Busia, if you actually read it!

You got it all wrong. My point was about rural development and urbanisation. If that programme had been allowed to work, there would not be the need for young people to flee the rural areas, to be kaya yei or dog chain sellers in Accra. That was my point.
The JSS which Jerry Boom, Mohammed Abdallah and Aanaa Enin screwed up so badly was Busia's idea to cut down on the number years people spent in school. The education system needed to be reformed and the existing universities consolidated first. The failure to do that is the reason we have one of the worst education systems in Africa today!
What was wrong with the housing programme that began to develop Odorkor and Dansoman Estates and Koforidua Adweso (the ones I am most familiar with) and all the regional capitals?
At least, most rural dwellers (and even in Accra for the elimination of cholera at the time), are ever grateful for the elimination of guinea worm and cholera, and especially guinea worm, which used to devastate their lives during the farming season, year after year.
At least for me as someone born in the countryside, the 29 months of Busia's regime saw more real and sustainable development than at anytime in in my lifetime.
The cedi was weak, as a result of the bankruptcy of the previous decade. So what exactly were the options open to any serious leader?. You obviously have no idea when people started leaving Ghana!
Ironically Ghana's economy has always performed at its worst under leftist governments. May be you should begin to reflect on your rhetoric!

Give them a line of editorial review extending from here to Jerusalem, and they will still be writing in pidgin. The extent of these people's education is just to qualify them to be town-criers for Nkrumah.
(I will generously make exception for Dr. G.K. Berko who can write pretty well but is still disabled when it comes to thinking well).

Is it because this letter, at least, has a more credible source than the one you paste according to what you think people should know.
You know, the one you, the lawyer, forgot to show the date?
Yes, those Danquah prison letters that you and the so-called Danquah Institute have thus far failed to show. Isn't this precisely what (a Danquah Institute)/websites is/are good at?

Dr. SAS, Attorney at Law I am sixty plus years on Earth but have come to the conclusion that people like you prefer colonialism in tranquility to freedom with all the dangers it entail. I am of the view that you understand the contents of the letter of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to Prof. Kofi Abrefa Busia after his overthrow.
It is a fact that Kwame Nkrumah read English and Latin and passed his examinations, as is the case of anyone studying in any university in the U.S.
Kwame Nkrumah authored a number of books, some of which were on philosophy and his Neocolonialism the Last Stage of Imperialism and Conscincism come to the fore.He did not use Nzima to write his thesis as well as Neocolonialism the Last Stage of Imperialism.
Dr. SAS, Attoney at Law if you are really a lawyer you are well aware that Kwame Nkrumah never acted unconstitutional. He did not come to power as a result of any unconstitutional action, or through any cheap named counterrevolution turned upside down on its head and named a revolution. Dr. SAS, Attorney at Law it is not fiction, but a fact that the U.S. laws that regard you as an animal less than the white man's dog were laws so long as they remain on the statute books of the U.S. then.
The history of U.S. scholarship has for a long time been hijacked by arrogant intellectuals, thus the U.S. is not able to convince anyone around the world about its socioeconomic system apart from the use of force, sanctions and other covert and overt means.
It is a fact that market women do not respect Prof. Kofi Abraa Busia during the period he was the Prime Minister of Ghana from 1969 to 1972 and not even students. It is also a fact that he was insulted by market women whenever he gets near the markets, especially his own sister in-laws Ghas.
The majority of Ghanaians then saw Busia of being the cause of the lost of employment by their husbands and children because he was an adviser the the military junta National Liberation Council(NLC). The dismissal of over 586 Ewhes from the civil and public service was a disaster. The no court no court statement that unfortunately even lawyers who say at the same time that it was not lawful for Nkrumah to terminate the appointment of some judges, yet when their mouths are not even closed they say that it was proper for Busia to dismiss those people. Then came the alliance compliance order which peach Nigerians who insulted Komla Agbeli Gbedema and his tribe calling them unprintable names during the campaign of the 1969 not turned their saviour. Busia's trouble never ended because just like you he see himself as an intellectual whose word is law and must be respected by everyone. He was than the prime minister of Ghana and you a wage slave like I. Busia was a rabid dog who was biting people left and right and as we have stated already students were called to parliament to explain why they abuse him.
Dr. SAS, Attorney at Law I happen to have a cousin who worked as a typist in Kwame Nkrumah's office at the Flag Staff House. Two years ago he narrated to me some of the torments even people he happen to get employment for at the Flag Staff House gave Kwame Nkrumah. Nkrumah did not cause their arrest but dispatch them out in peace and the rest is history. Nkrumah did not imprisoned them but their own life put them in and out of prison. I happen to know a lot of CPP members and activists and their lives and public conduct is a reflection of the life of Kwame Nkrumah whose ideological student I am. I beat my chest and write here that Nkrumahism made me a king in my aspect of human endeavour. Without Nkrumahism I would not have achieved for this country what I have done for her, not fearing injury nor casting pearl at swine, and even remaining an unknown soldier. Let me end here by saying that what have you done for Ghana and Africa apart from cutting their nose, to spite their face and mock them.

Kwame,
How can an old man like you tell such shameful plain-faced lies like that? The Ga Market women did not like Busia for purely tribal reasons. It was because the PP trounced their turn-coat “Darling Boy” Joe Appiah and his “Aba ba see”. Even Naa Morkor did not have any peace from them mainly because they considered the “Dwamm bii” invading Accra. They even hooted at Busia, for trying to create a proper sewerage system in Accra, which would have ended the practice of shitting at the beach today!
The Aliens (your Alliance) Compliance Order was a nationalistic policy. It stopped the smuggling of Ghana’s diamonds and opened the floodgates for Ghanaians to enter the retail trade. There iare no diamond mines in Lebanon, but Lebanon had a thriving diamond market. They were all smuggled from Ghana and Sierra Leone. Bringing Ghanaians into the retail trade is what built Kwahu, the most prosperous and beautiful district in the whole Ghana! That is what led to Tata brewery, which Rawlings stole and sold for a song. Ernest Chemist and a host of other Ghanaian enterprises came to be because of that policy.
Besides, it was not a capricious policy. Nigerians who had lived in Ghana for decades and were still sending money to Nigeria through the black market, which was damaging the economy, were given the chance to regularise their stay in Ghana. Like the Indians in Uganda, they thought it was a joke and ignored it. You cannot blame Busia for that. I had classmates from primary school to university whose parents regularised their stay and continued to live in Ghana. They are still in Ghana!
There is history behind Apollo 568 and it had to do with Kotoka and tribally-based employment. That is what is happening at the ministries and other government agencies in Ghana today. Most of the ‘Northerners’ that occupy lofty positions in Ghana today are not qualified to be where they are. Many of them write the kind of very poor English you have displayed here. If in 2017 another government comes to power in Ghana, there are bound to be dismissals of dubiously engaged staff. It is as simple as that.

It seems to me this ignorant and extremely arrogant man (after all empty barrels make the most noise)is so deluded that he thinks he is the most 'educated' and 'intelligent' Ghanaian!!! He cannot even see that he makes such a fool of himself. This is the same shallow-minded and good-for-nothing lawyer (with no understanding of logic which he makes a lot of noise about) who told us "children should not be taught maths and science" because "we don't need them". Strange indeed. Yet the fool cannot even put 2 and 2 together to figure out that 'strange' women he picks up will dupe him!!! He is so daft, he couldn't work it out. He could not do the sums. Yet he has the impudence to tell us about the "English Language"!!
This type of personality never dreamed in his his life to attain whatever he has today and probably thinks the only way to protect it is to drum it up. The trouble is, he is going about it in the worst way possible.
SAS reminds me of the proverbial lizard who falls from a tree branch and begins to nod in appreciation of his 'own heroics' just because no one recognises his 'antics'. An embarrassment to Ghana. By the way I do not regard him as intellectual.

Kwasia, who engaged the Italians to build the refinery? The contractor for Akosombo dam was an Italian company - does that mean Italy built the dam and gave it to Ghana as gift, aboafunu? The Engineers were from Kaiser Engineering - and part of the contract agreement was to use a lot of Ghanaian architects and civil engineers so they get on the job training. 35 Ghanaian labourers died on the job. In your sick mind, then VALCO was a gift from some unknown entity? Korle Bu hospital built by the colonialist is NOT the same thing as Korle Bu Teaching Hospital!!! Go and research - if your brain is capable of it - how a hospital is turned into a teaching hospital. I will have mercy on you and excuse your idiocy. Go and read about the history of the Ghana Medical School on Wikipedia and you will have some idea of the distinction.

Kwame Nkrumah personally negotiated with the Italian leadership and invited AGIP to work on the TOR with a 50:50 Ghana-Italy investment in the project.
Profs. Easmon, Badu, Kumah, Quartey etc. would tell you that Nkrumah personally invited them and asked if they could run a medical school and training people to be as good as they were in Ghana. The Korle-Bu hospital was a relatively small establishment and his government acquired a vast amount of land for the KTH project, land which sadly today is being encroached upon in a big way. It stretched all the way to the borders of Mamprobi and included the Korle-Bu Commercial Bank and Indadfa park area etc.
Do you know thew story behind the VALCO agreement and project? Where did you receive your education?
Please check the facts before you spew out falsehoods. You may not like Nkrumah, but you cannot, and must not deny his contributions to our nation's birth, early growth and even the legacy to Ghana and Africa as a whole (whether we admit it or not).

are slowly digging themselves deeper. Defending the indefensible and destroying their credibility to boot. They claim they are democrats and yet have no problem being associated with coup plotters. Their leaders were the most undemocratic elements in Ghana. They claim the PDA was bad and yet had their own PCD which was even worse. They cry foul over the arrest of about 1800 people and yet they jailed twice as many. They claim the respected the will of the people and yet colluded with foreign interest to trump the rights of the people. Which leads us to conclude that either these people are liars or are schizoids. They have multiple personality disorder.

SAS and his lover boy Ahoofe may chafe at the balls after reading this but what a salient was for master to take the student to the cleaners. Even the use of simple 'KOFI' shows how little Nkrumah thought of this pygmy. As for SAS and his lover boy Ahoofe, there is a quote that best describes them. It goes 'those who cannot do, teach'. Between their two 'REAL' Phds, they cannot even come up with simple political front to better their villages and hometowns. Nkrumah at their age was pushing for the liberation of the whole continent. While these two losers cannot even open a dunkin donut. That people is all you need to know about these faux intellectuals.
