Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.
“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”, Greenstreet shouted when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional Captial, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”
“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”
He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”
“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”
“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”
The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”
However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

"The drug barons are currently targeting Ghana making us a vulnerable nation hence we must toughen our national security at all our Airports. If Ms Ametefeh has been allegedly doing such manoeuvres since 2009 goodness knows how many of such people have used this method just because of their status in society as security around such people have been relaxed. No one can be trusted when it comes to such issues any more as our security is at stake. We should not even allow the VVIP section security to be relaxed so that unscrupulous people take advantage of such freedom afforded to them in the wake of this saga".

Ghanaians must desist from "worshipping" presidents and begin to hold presidents and leaders accountable. Bravo Greenstreet for showing Ghanaians the right way. Why bow to presidents when they are stealing millions of dollars of tax payer's money. The NDC people are enjoying while the people are suffering. Is this the better Ghana agenda. Thank you Greenstreet and more grease. May the Lord protect you.

Ghana has one of the most useless prosecution service in the world. The Attorneys at the Attorney General's Department are a completed waste on Ghanaian taxpayers. They cannot prosecute cases and in fact, in some cases they deliberately frustrate the prosecution in order for the case to be dismissed by Judges.
In fact, it's good Nayele was arrested in the UK. If she had been arrested in Ghana she would have been set free by now and the cocaine would have turned into some powdery substance.
The Attorney General's Department should be disbanded and an independent Prosecution Service answerable to but not controlled by the Minister for Justice established.

With Dramani Mahama and his junior brother Ibrahim Mahama involved, what justice should we expect?
Even if Dramani Mahama has his own way, he should have sold our nation to the Judge who dealt with the NDC cocaine carrier Nayale Ametefe so as
to set Ibrahim Mahama's girlfriend Nayale Ametefe free.
After all Victor Smith the NDC appointee High Commissioner was immediately the arrest of Nayale Ametefe drove in his official capacity as a High Commissioner went to the
Prison where their cocaine carrier is held to promised her not to mention any name but she should just go the prison and when she returns, she would be awarded with $3 million American dollars, one mansion to be build any where she likes it and any car of her choice.
It's never a strange to see these
cocaine carriers holding NDC Membership Cards getting away with murders, what happened to the Somanya NDC Youth Organizer who was arrested with 70 kilos of cocaine? Mahama again
ordered the Police Command to set that NDC Youth Organizer free and today he
is NDC Financier.

As things stand, I cannot agree with you more. I have been saying this for a long time. We need another viable third Party that has little to no baggage and can act solely in the interest of the Nation and the entire Citizenry, not of a few privileged individuals.
It is then that we can have our Judiciary and Civil Service revamped to reflect the true Democracy we have been craving for. We are tired of the Fascists, Oligarchs and the Aristocrats who would always like to manipulate us for their exclusive personal benefits.
Ghana can never advance, if her systems are bereft with such refined crooks riding on the wings of our yearning for Democracy but undercutting the roots for its grounding.
It does not have to be CPP per se. PPP or any other new Party with stronger commitment to fundamental fairness and true Democracy would suffice for our needs.
We have experienced the sordid, calculated dereliction of prosecutorial duties under both the NPP and the NDC--something that hollows out our Judicial System into a weak Swiss-Cheese of Law and Order. It makes mockery of our Democracy and perpetually defers our hope for equal opportunities in the Country.
We deserve much better. And we have been waiting for way too long, since Independence, for a lasting true Democracy.
Ironically, today, marks the 49th anniversary of our first Coup, on February 24, 1966. After pushing Nkrumah's regime off our governance track, we have still failed since that time to establish a true Democracy beyond just free Elections.
Our Politicians have only persisted in protesting against anything that would restrict or taint our Voting Process, (unless it was in their favor, of course) but have failed to allow all other aspects of Democracy take hold.
That suggests strongly that the Politicians know it is only with such easy and free access to voting that they could get themselves legally situated to apply their mischief. They then hide under the cover of Democracy to curtail all other necessary aspects of the same system that ensure its full operation for their personal interests.
They would then use the individual liberty aspect of the Democracy to justify any special privilege they devise for themselves, and claim the relative lagging behind of the rest of us is because of our lack of ambition and willingness to work hard. Baloney!!
While they deny the rest of us equal access to opportunities with their cronyism and nepotism, they claim their success is solely by the dint of their exclusive intelligence and fuller embrace of Capitalism.
Any cry from the Public for better access to opportunities is deliberately mis-characterized by these Politicians as the woeful howling of the lazy Socialists who would rather have everything doled unto them. But the masses are not demanding hand-outs. They are seeking for fairness in access to the opportunities to advance themselves, employing their individual talents and energies and resources.
When there is almost always a sole source for a Government procurement, for example, dubiously chosen without a fair bidding, intended to keep other entrepreneurs out of the process, how do we then encourage the fair competition that Democracy requires among individuals for the best results?
When Politicians use their exclusive prior knowledge of certain rising need for business opportunities to have their cronies and families alone set up Businesses overnight to bid for national Contracts at pre-established accepted terms to either outbid others or satisfy a precondition for sole-sourcing, where is the fair competitive Capitalist arena to compete in?
When the families and cronies of Politicians can almost always flout the Laws of the Land with impunity and get away with it, while everyone else suffers the heaviest legal Penalties for every breach of the Law, where is the Democracy? When these Politicians redirect our Millions of Dollars in Loans to ensure filling their pockets, and do not get prosecuted for Corruption, while a common petty thief that steals a fowl goes to jail for a long time, and have a lifelong criminal record that obstructs his redemption for life, where is our Democracy?
These Politicians, again, for example, have no incentive to improve on our Educational System that allows us to learn better to become more competitive with their stock, or even fully fathom the dubious machinations they indulge in to keep their comparative advantage.
And as we remain poorer financially and academically, and our next cycle of Elections comes around, these Politicians then come back to demand for our votes as being the only eligible ones who alone have the financial and academic abilities to rule us. Sadly, they often succeed in wooing the Electorate with a few light sprinkles of unsolicited largesse to demonstrate their 'caring' for us. They would then promise the masses Heavens, citing an old adage that "he who shares with you the little he or she has, is the one who would share with you his or her bigger fortunes".
However, by now, we should all understand and realize that these Politicians with the archaic nostalgic-driven, ideologically sentiments-enslaved and partisan-vengeful mentalities are more for themselves, and prefer to maintain the status quo of lopsided advantage to them and their cronies at our expense. They fear seeing more of the ordinary folks advance in wealth and business because, then, they would face tighter competition that might shove them off their positions in Political and Social Circles.
As they scheme to cycle our Nation's fate in their hands alone, we perpetually remain vulnerable and incapacitated to participate fully in our Democratic process. The only option for us to effectively change that situation is for us to find another Party that does not share those faux democracy tenets.
Long Live Ghana!!!

First of all why were they prosecuted together. With respect to the other girls suspected of carrying drugs to the UK, what evidence was the prosecution going to give. As for the foreign affairs director, wasn't his offence an internal disciplinary issue for allowing unauthorised persons to use the vvip facility. With the businessman, he had very close relationship with the girls,
Does that prove he was involved in the smuggling of drugs. Evidence was at best circumstantial. More investigation was needed and the security services should have been more patient even if it meant waiting for a few years to gather compelling evidence.
The whole thing looks staged to give the appearance of something being done.

Just don't blame the State Attorney or the Judge. But firstly understand that it is all an orchestrated litany of a big COVER UP, engineered by the NDC/MAHAMA COCAINE GOVERNMENT.
Most of us did predict, the moment those people were apprehended that they certainly would be put in a first class Hotel somewhere in Accra just to bid time and eventually get freed for want of prosecution.
In fact one would be DUMB for NOT understanding the whole BIG PICTURE.
Here is a young lady who had been busted for COCAINE BY THE UK AUTHORITIES ON THEIR SOIL.
(2) The Ghana High Commission in UK had organised a limo on arrival at the Heathrow Airport until they had a signal that she had been arrested.
(3) The High Commission organised some Officials to visit her in Her Majesty's Prison.
(4) The High Commission relates to the NDC Government that "NAYALE" had DECIDED NOT TO TALK.
(5) Few days later the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hannah PODAH TETTEH organises a Press Conference to assure the GOVERNMENT OF NDC THAT NAYALE HAD DECIDED NOT TO TALK.
Now, the MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION IS: Who KNOWS NAYALE OFFICIALLY IN GHANA THAT SHOULD WARRANT THE GOVERNMENT TO HAVE SUCH INTEREST IN THE MATTER??
The fact of the matter is, I have personally travelled and lived in many countries in the Western Countries until I finally decided to settle in New Zealand, back in 1975, to be precise.
I have NEVER known of aNY Ghanaian telling me that he/she had received any HELP from any Ghanaian Embassy or Mission, be it Financial, Passport Problems or whatever.
So why was this our THIEVING AND RANSACKING OF OUR TREASURY NDC BASTARDS SHOW INTEREST IN THIS LADY NAYELE IF THEY ARE NOT THE BRAIN BEHIND THE WHOLE SAGA???
I remember back in 1983 applying for a Visa to visit Ghana from the Ghana Embassy in Australia. After constant requests, they finally told me that they had been instructed by the Murderer Rawlings' Regime to close the Embassy.
And did that mean that both my Passport and MONEY should also be closed with the Embassy?? That was the end of that matter, and New Zealand Government had to issue me with another passport eventually.
The fact of the matter is this Government had been so HAPPY that Nayele had decided NOT to talk, therefore those accomplices who were clandestinely arrested had always been on the cards to be LET FREE BY THE NDC COCAINE INFESTED GOVERNMENT.
Remember how KWESI PRATT used to be "arrested" by the Murderer Rawlings' Government?? He was always relaying information to that Regime of people he had been talking to in PRISON.
So from hence, when you want to describe this government, simply say:
NAYELE COCAINE D.C ( NCDC).

You're probably right but the fact remains that even if they were caught red-handed in Ghana with cocaine, they will not get indictment. Who gets jailed in Ghana?
On the other hand, who boards a plane to UK, never enters the country, returns to Ghana via other countries? Could it be established that they were with Ruby and therefore accomplices? Could it be established they all passed through the VVIP lounge at the same time?
So long as we find every reason in Ghana NOT to indict very bad and disgraceful acts that tarnish the name of the country and we all, we will never have a country. Corney, I disagree with you. In the US, if it could be established they were accomplices, these crazy guys could get indictment.
Why does US jail guys who ONLY express interest in joining ISIS or terrorist groups when we all know certain guys go there, get disillusioned and break from the group without harming anyone? The US jails guys who are caught in the US Airports, and it can't be proved they engaged in any bad activities.
Do not always use the US to try to put messages across. It doesn't make any sense.

I didn't use US in my comment but you did it yourself comparing US law to the law in Ghana which are different.if somebody is planning to join a terrorist group in the US that is a crime but that does not mean every country has the same law.
It is not true that the people went to UK and never entered the country,if you don't enter the country you cannot return, you have to pass through immigration or customs before you could arrange for your return flight if there is a need for it to do so immediately, there is no law that says if you return the same day on your flight you have committed a crime.
The system can select them to go through secondary screening but it does not mean they commit any crime.
If you pass through immigration in any country it means you have entered the country, not taking transport to the main town does not mean you have not entered the country, the ladies entered the country.

This is a cover up case, if you really look at it. The fact of the matter is that the real people behind Nayele case are protected Politicians .
The government rushed and arrested these people and I was even surprised they were able to charge them with anything.
Let's start with Dawood. Even if he called and asked the Airport officials to extend a courtesy to him and allow Nayele and his friends to use the VIP or VVIP, that is not a crime unless you can prove he knew those people were carrying cocaine.
The three officials at the Airport who processed Nayele through were carrying instructions from higher authorities.
The ladies should not have been arrested in the first place and I said so when they were arrested. They were not arrested in London where they were supposedly carrying cocaine. It is not a crime to be Nayele's friend or to travel to London and return the following day.
The fact is that, Ndc and this Mahama administration are culpable in the Nayele cocaine smuggling and these people who in any country should have been witnesses were picked up to calm angry Ghanaians up whilst the politicos who knew Nayele was carrying cocaine because of their proximity to this government are protected.

So Mr Sarpong , do you think if this cocain saga had happened in the USA, these facilitators would have been freed . Let me begin with paragraph 3 of your comment .What authority does Dawood have to call the airport to have those people use the VIP lounge to board the plane ? That in itself does not constitute a crime but it turned out that those he purposely helped carried cocain. Now it becomes a crime of aiding and abetting the transportation of cocain. Do you think that if it were in the USA ,the FBI will wash it's hands off ? Thy will start their investigation from here till the big fishes are caught.

The biggies in NDC who orchestrated this deal are the one directing how, where etc this case should go. How can this Dawood just pick up the phone and issue orders for Nayele to go through the VVIP lounge? Is he a government appointee? Please, some big person in the current administration is behind this cocaine saga. Naming that person will shake the very foundation of the government.

The unwillingness of the Prosecution to do its due diligence in seeing a case run its natural course at the Court is the biggest obstacle in our Judicial System.
We have always been on the case of the Police and Judges that their Corrupt approach to cases denies the victims and the Nation Justice. But it has become an almost insurmountable obstacle for Justice in the Country that the Prosecution, the very organ of the Government to present prosecutable cases to the Courts, demonstrates, not even a grotesque ineptitude in case-presentation, but outright unwillingness to proceed with a case as required by our Constitution.
If cases are not presented by the Prosecution, they simply do not exist in the Courts for Judges to adjudicate on them. This trend might have begun long ago in Ghana. But it became most conspicuous, and aroused deserving worries of discerning Ghanaians of various backgrounds with the Ya Na case in which the Dagbon Overlord and some 39 others of his family were murdered, and his decapitated head was blatantly and gruesomely displayed by one of the killers in Public.
The last and probably the final attempt to seek any Justice in that Ya Na case saw the accused set free on technicality in which the Prosecution claimed some essential evidential documents to prove its case had gone missing.
Many similar high-profile cases have since then been dismissed on technicalities akin to what we saw in the Ya Na case, including this particular one we are discussing here right now.
It is not only a shame, but also a gross inexcusable negligence of national responsibility by the Prosecution to fulfill its obligations of seeing the cases run their natural legal course at the Courts. What that really means is that the Prosecution, by its very actions, refuse to let the Courts administer Justice.
I strongly believe it is necessary and most appropriate for the Parliament to promptly look into this trend of Prosecutorial undermining of our Judiciary, which threatens the very foundation of our Democracy. It is unthinkable that a vital organ of our Government would, by its deliberate orchestration, derail the Constitutional obligations assigned it to sustain our Democracy.
This is not a case of a simple incompetence. It is a case of refusal to do the work assigned. Period! No special circumstances exist to render these cases exceptional for a wholesale recuse by the Prosecution. If anything at all, it is the Judges who decide on any such request for the Prosecution to recuse itself. And hardly should it be that the entire Government Prosecution outfit would be recused for a case to simply evaporate.
Meanwhile, the Prosecution Officers are still at their positions drawing their fat Salaries and benefits at the expense of the tax-payers.
If you asked me, I would say they, on the Prosecution team for all similar debaucheries, deserve to be prosecuted themselves for intentionally failing the Nation administer Justice to instill order and Peace.
We need not even delve deeper into why the Prosecution decided not to fulfill its obligations, which could be for a number of reasons, likely to be more criminal than just the dereliction of duty, ranging from sheer nepotic attempt to save the neck of a relative or a friend, or good old bribery to drop the case.
There should never be an instance of "want of Prosecution" in administering Justice in our Courts. If the Prosecution does not have enough material to indict a culprit, the case would not have to reach the Judge in the first place. But when a prima facie has been established and the case has been presented for adjudication, the Prosecution, in the absence of any new evidence, MUST stay with its duty to the end for the Judge or Jury to decide the final verdict on a case.
Such blatant toying with our Justice system is what is fast rendering Ghana a Nation of rogues, crooks, and incorrigibly corrupt, where anyone with stinky b*alls could dare the Law Enforcement in the Country and do whatever he or she wants to the detriment of others and the Nation.
Let all true Patriots rise up to register their concern and demand immediate redress by our Authorities of this undemocratic trend. Lawlessness is potent killer of Democracy. And we should not sit by to let it continue, especially when perpetrated by the Law Enforcement apparatus itself.
Long Live Ghana!!!
