If the School has enough cash for a mall then why can't it be used to beef up academic work?? Accra poly is surrounded by Malls and shopping centres, and Markets and have they considered the number of people who might be coming to shop there?? The traffic situation around tema station that may worsen? Or the new security measures and traffic control that must be put in place by both MTTU and the school itself that may cost more money to both State and school?? The school authority should not think short term but think on these long term problems. But I know they won't listen to the students and go ahead just like this Mahama govt. Is doing.

How can the school run this mall? It would be better to use the money to train your science students to repair mobile phones. That would bring in far more money than going to buy and sell sardines.

I took my dad to the Polytechnic mall the other day to buy some new shoes. We decided to
grab a bite at the food court. I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting
next to him. The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors: green,
red, orange, and blue. My dad kept staring at him. The teenager would look
and find him staring every time. When the teenager had enough, he
sarcastically asked, 'What's the matter Old man, never done anything wild in
your life?' Knowing my dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not
choke on his response; knowing he would have a good one. And in classic
style he did not bat an eye in his response, "Got drunk once and had sex
with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my son."

This comes under "Revenue Generation and Diversification" in an institution's attempt to raise money to counter financial constraints which affect all tertiary institutions.
An example from the US, "Cerritos College in California has extended a forty-year lease to a developer to construct and manage an assisted living facility on a parcel of land adjacent to the college and "that Cerritos not only receives a revenue stream from this venture but has also gained an on-campus laboratory in which students in its nursing, physical therapy, cosmetology, and culinary arts programs can gain experience", (Cohen et al, 2014, p. 170).
Please spend time educating the students on this. They would understand.
