It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

In the case of the Mabey and Johnson scandal in which Alhaji Kamara, Sipa Yankey and Ato Quarshie were implicated, the verdict was that, indeed, Alhaji Baba Kamara was cited for financial impropriety involving bribery of state officials, and the foreign entity and individual involved was subsequently canned.
Baba Kamara cannot run away from the rot involving his person, and his appointment as the National Security Advisor creates an ethical, integrity and credibility deficitand crisis for the Presidency and for the country. Not that, the Mahama-led NDC gov't seems to find anything wrong with that, since countless number of NDC appointees who have engaged in all sorts and manner of financial malfeasance have been granted solace and residency at the Presidency, leading to a straight forward shooting University Don in the person of Prof. Amoako-Baah; a Political Science lecturer to describe the Presidency as a "den of criminals".
The interesting aspect of this appointment is a gov't seeking credibility and confidence both domestically and internationally, and this completely defeats any such overtures. That we are afraid is governance gone awry, and a leadership crisis and chaos at the seat of gov't.
