  In the advanced world, hospital managers/CEO are not political apointees. Not even doctors. The job is advertised, applicants are shortlisted and interviewed by competent independent body. Unfortunately, this guy was appointed from the flagstaff house and what do you expect from him.

Second, the construction of the maternity block was started in 1974 by Gen Acheampong and was abandoned for decades until work resumed briefly during the Kuffour era. On what basis is the CEO projecting that it would be complete in 2 years? Anyway, how long did the British government take to build the whole hospital from the scratch? And look at how long it is taking Ghanaians to complete just a maternity block. Yet we will be wasting (sorry, stealing) money in the name of independence celebration. March 6 must be a national day of mourning!
