“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.

He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.

“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”

“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

Try and get off this silliness because a doctorate degree by any measure or definition is not synonymous with wisdom. In the global stage of economics and finance what Dr. Bawumia says does not amount to a hill of beans and he surely does not hold sway anywhere but in Ghana where foolishness sells despite living in misery at the hands of educated parliamentarians, judiciary branch and executive offices. Dr. Bawumia served at BoG at a time his boss John Kufour, the president, and his men were busy begging colonial powers to forgive our debts in the hopes of buying Ghana’s land, mineral and human resource on the cheap.

NPP and NDC have destroyed Ghana but with people like you adding your infantile two cents they will continue to rule Ghana for the foreseeable future because most voters accept a Ghana with a whole lot of inadequacies because such things do not matter much to tribal zealots and political party foot soldiers with their brains far up their you know what. If Kufour and Dr. Bawumia were any smarter for the credit you shower unto them they would have known that dependable and uninterrupted supply of electric power is the driver to real development. Instead they spend their 8-years in office pandering to people your likes while Ghana remained in the dark making it easier for politicians and street level thugs alike to steal us all blind.

If Bawumia was any administrator worth his weight in gold he would have known once he discovered what ailed BoG the antidote to that managerial mess was for him and his team to seek and implement of best practices and procedures along with employee acceptable conduct so as to curtail or minimize theft and or mismanagement by future occupants and or employees at BoG.

What is the correlation between the coincidence of the attempted jail break in Kumasi, a certain political party's stronghold and the lecture organised on that same day by that same political party to commemorate the death of a founding father on that political party in Nsawam prison? The presidential candidate of the said political party was the main speaker at this event. The minister should open his eyes and answer this question so as to address his mind to wisdom. More so in the wake of the Regional chairman of this party being on a rampage in the Kumasi metropolis.
