For example, two University graduates on equal capability enter the world of work in the public and private sector respectively. After 5 years, there is so much difference in their respective attitudes to work, customer relations, personal motivation,desire to perform and achieve, etc.
On privatization of a public company,same employees are retained and he becomes an entirely new employee in attitudes,performance,etc.
Mr. President, I think The public sector protects its employees too much;supervision is laxed,subordinates circumvent laid channels of grievance reporting,thereby under immediate superios,etc.What is worse, top management invariably side with the subordinate, thus instituting divide and rule tactics inthe orgn.Sooner than later, a well resourced public company, like the present ECG,in terms of modern buildings, computers,a healthy client base,etc,is turned over to the parasitic private sector to reap the fruits of all these Investment, in name of efficiency of the private sector.
Mr. President, you and I know that it an illusion. Many ugly happenings go on in private sector that are not reported openly. Most times, innocent and hardworking staff at all levels are forced out of jobs, deserved positions, etc. Therefore, please,do Not fall for this ruse that ECG is a very strategic national asset esp. for a SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND GOVT OF THE NDC.
What ECG needs at this time is A DRASTIC RESULTS ORIENTED RESTRUCTURING AND NOT THE EASY PROPRIETARY PRIVATISATION option often recommended by these selfseeking consultants and their shadowy collaborators.
