I don't think that just because you attended Police Academy you should be promoted. The article even disclosed that some officers interrupted their foreign studies to come fulfill their 'Academy' requirement. Also they want their promotion regardless of whether there is vacancy or not. Academy graduate so promote me. Hmmm Ghana Police! I believe that bribery and corruption are innate in the institution so for me I am rather surprised that the disgruntled SPOs will voice that out. They have been playing that game every day and winning so why complain now when you are loosing? All in all i think promotion criteria should be revised focus more on productivity (merit).

The most annoying Part is that the junior ranks who performs all the herculean task n sacrifice their lives to protect the good people of Ghana are totally not treated as it should be. If the C.I 76 is to be followed to the latter then all personnel. Must be treated equally because what is good for the goose is good for the gander. One serious observation is that some personnel at the police hqrs n flagstaff house have been promoted three times to the next higher ranks without any justification and all this must be halted because it demoralises their colleagues. That notwithstanding we will continue to do our best for mother Ghana
