This Mahama man is so dumb he makes me want to weep.
Can somebody tell the man (Mahama) that his call for an African multinational troop initiative will fail flat on its face and that the simple reason that Boko Haram appears to be so confident and successful is that it seems to have some kind of sound financial support from somewhere. The kind of equipment they apparently appear to have, as reported and exhibited in media articles and photos, suggests that, very powerful people are secretly funding them from possibly outside Africa. We first of all, also need to know why many Nigerian soldiers have mutinied instead of facing the Boko haram group?
Not very strangely, in recent times, all sorts of non-state actors under the general description of rebels, all of a sudden pop up from nowhere but with massive military logistics to cause mayhem, chaos and grief to established de facto govts and citizens of various countries. This is what we must investigate and this is what we must avoid at the cost of our very lives in Ghana.
Even the Ghana military establishment which enjoys the possession of tons of 2nd World War military junk and other rejected equipment thrown at them by all and sundry, cannot boast of some of the equipment that the Boko Haram seems to have. Greater numbers of men or indeed military fire-power alone, in any case, cannot win battles or wars.
Now Nigeria is potentially a richer nation than all the countries in West Africa put together. It has some of the richest persons in terms of billionaires, in Africa and the world. It has what is probably the largest and best equipped military in Africa. Yet Nigeria has one of the most deplorable conditions of poverty in Africa and indeed in the world. One does not need to be an expert mathematician to figure out why Nigeria finds itself in the state that it is in.
President Mahama, what business have you got meddling in such a messy situation? If Nigeria with all its massive wealth cannot solve or deal with their internal problems, what chance have you and other economically struggling West African countries got, to help them solve their security handicaps? No chance!
Ghanaians already have enough problems on our plate with no gas, no water, no electricity and no money to live a decent respectable life. We cannot therefore afford to get drawn into this suicidal Nigerian debacle.

You are right about the fact that Nigeria does have enough resources to easily defeat this problem. However this our world is full of dark mysteries. There are rumours that some of the rulers are behind this group. Some even say the west hiding behind countries like Saudi Arabia are pulling the strings. I know that sounds far fetched but if we remind ourselves that a former CIA operative confessed that the reason why Nkrumah was overthrown was they felt he could help the whole of Africa develop.
Why don't they want Africans to develop? Well that's a question which can only be answered by them. Nigeria in spite of all its problems is at the brink of developing into one of the global economic powers. Countries like Brazil which was like Nigeria not too long ago could surpass countries like France and Britain in less than 50 years.
Nigeria is travelling on the same path as Brazil and some may like to derail it. The development of Nigeria is going to help the whole West African region and it's in our interest to ensure that evil does not take roots in that country. The bokom haram problem is not a Nigerian problem. Currently neighbouring countries like Cameron and guinea are being affected by this terror. As you correctly pointed out, Nigerians do have vast resources. If those resources fall into the hands of the extremist they would use it to terrorise the entire region including Ghanaians. The problem therefore is ours as well. Mahama on this occasion has spoken wisely. We should support this calling the same way opposition political parties join the ruling party in the west when their way of life is threatened by terrorism.

As far as I am concerned, the Nigerian govt is ultimately responsible for the needless and ultimate deaths of millions of innocent Nigerian citizens and more, through painful extended deprivation suffered as a result of crony capitalism, inept govt and corruption schemes.
Mahama himself is also responsible for the suffering and eventual deaths of a larger proportion of Ghanaian citizens through unprecedented corruption scams and the same level of crass ineptitude.
For those of us who have any common-sense on this platform, who among these three suspects should we hold liable for the suffering and deaths of our compatriots?

My answer then was a defensive yes, if same question is thrown to me today, my answer will be a disappointing big no, Africa has lost her leaders who had vision with a mission to protect her people.
I don't know how many innocent people will violently taken captives and a lot more killed before our leaders reason the act. Mahama is still talking as if the notorious human monsters called Bokom Haram started the bloody atrocities just yesterday.

An African High Command would be necessary, but African governments have to remove every vestige of abject pover in their countries. At the end of the day, Africa has to unite as Dr. Nkrumah visualize.

Boko Haram is in Nigeria but it is spreading its tentacles throughout the west african sub-region.Boko Haram is attacking Cameroon now and Niger may be the next. The idea that an international force must tackle the Boko Haram threat is a good one and has even come too late.Boko Haram is radicalizing some moslems throughout the west African sub region and who knows what will happen in Ghana,Togo,Ivory Coast etc? An international military coalition to deal with Boko Haram will be a step in the right direction.

The idea is long overdue that, sometimes I wonder about the usefulness of the (toothless Bull Dog) Organization to the Continent, ever since. Not until the various African Countries endeavor to manage their Affairs(economies) to balance the Budget without international donor's assistance among other things,African Countries would continue to be a pathetic story to themselves. The tendency of always expected foreign help, encourage the leadership to refuse to do more for herself/people.
In my personal opinion right now, I think anyone who has some sort of University Education, thinks he can lead,in Ghana for example, devoid of simple Common Sense approach to resolve issues. Not everyone can lead Successfully to the aspirations of the people.Because one needs to be
Selfless, acknowledged the plight of the ordinary person in the Street(poor
weak and venerable),be pitiful to the good numbers of people who feel hunger in the Stomach,to introduce some Social Welfare Benefits to help their own people etc etc.
Having said that, I think Nigeria has the capabilities ( in Funds, human and military arsenal) to combat that Boko Haram, long time ago. What was their setback ?
Again, there was an international efforts, what was their weaknesses and disadvantages, that prevented them to make an impact in that efforts.Any future collision should consider the above questions, to combat from that point.
