Some drugs when taken frequently for a long time,can actually manifest as a psychotic symptom indicative of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder,according to mental health authorities.

we as a people need to take the bull by the horns and implement very drastic measures to tackle the issue. l have said it before and here reiterate that we should as a matter of urgency outlaw certain acts and things which we have through our indifference and sheer complicity allowed to fester in our public space. for instance through aggressive advocacy and policy measures and implementation public spirited organizations- civil society groups and government we have to a large extent succeeded in curtailing public advertisement and consumption of tobacco or cigarette. this success, l believe can be replicated in curbing this menace of marijuana use and its destructive consequences on the health and lives of our people.
In the first place we need to totally outlaw public display and covert advertisement of anything wee, be it any insignia, souvenir paraphernalia or any dress depicting the hemp be outlawed. unlike the current situation where an impression is created as if there is some sort of tacit public endorsement of the use of the hemp.
there is again one group of professionals who have also taken undue advantage of their presence in the media to overtly and covertly promote the use of the drug. l'm here refering to socalled rasta people who through their persistently reckless and mindless behaviour have contributed largely to the current situation and so l therefore suggests total censuring of these reagae songs coming into our country before been aired in the media. we cannot in the name of press freedom allow this nonsense to continue.
