If he is he must (1) RETURN MERCHANT BANK TO ITS OWNERS, (2) SANCTION AFRIYIE ANKRAH THE CRYING THIEF, (3) STOP PLAYING PRANKS WITH WAYOME, ISOFOTON AND OTHER JUDGEMENT DEPTS THAT WERE FRAUDULENTLY PAID.
John is himself the number one thief, so how can he discipline thieves. He has to steal to look after his 23 or so children. Therefore all hands on deck. All appointees must must take whatever they can grab. This man is simply unfit to be president.
Ghana will definitely be better off without John Mahama. The monies being given to our very stupid chiefs is stolen money. it is monies that should go to repair our roads.

The idea of turning the Polytechnics into Technical universities is not a bad idea but the government idea of turning all ten Polytechnics into a university at a go in Ghana is not feasible. Where are the industries at Upper East,West, Volta, Northern, Central etc that can support the Technical students to get a hands on training?
Even Greater Accra and Ashanti regions, the two best developed regions in Ghana don't have enough industries that can provide the needed hands on training for these students.
The University of Science and technology at Kumasi don't even have modern technical centers to provide the hands on training for its mechanical, Electrical and other Engineering students to get needed training. What Industries are in Wa or Bolgatanga to train the Polytechnic University students there?
If anything at all, the government should start with Takoradi Polytechnic, the best Polytechnic school in Ghana first, then Kumasi and Accra Polytechnics.
This ostentatious government idea of turning all ten Polytechnics into universities will fail. We don't have industries at this time that can support ten Technical universities.

These dumb heads are dismantling everything the founder of our nation, Dr. Nkrumah, put together a developing country such as ours. The present day Ghanaian is so cognitively adrift and developmentally challenged that it is the technocrats in IMF in Washington DC which is managing and controlling our elected officials by remote control. How useless can the Ghanaian be?
Can these dumb asses in parliament explain to me the rationale for changing our polytechnics into universities? Or are these corrupt officials using the change as a conduit to siphon money into their parties or into their bank accounts? My question to these brain dead politicians is this: why does a developing nation like Ghana needs so many universities, or are the universities the only higher institutions of learning?
Polytechnics are structured to provide expertise and technical training for a young economy such as ours. We need the plumbers, electricians, carpenters, masons, drafters, etc., etc. Dr. Nkrumah set up the Polytechnics for these purposes - to maintain our infrastructure. These are trades, and every country needs them; even in advanced countries such as Canada and others, there are trade schools (collages) where students who are not interested in pursuing academic route, go and specialize in these trades.
How can a university produce a plumber or carpenter? These require skill training and universities do not train skills. That is why a lawyer who graduates from university has to do articling before entering the law practice, and that is why the doctor has to do internship in the O/R before becoming a doctor. In actual fact, these professionals finish the university education for they proceed to colleges where they specialize in these fields. That is why we have the college of dentistry, college of pharmacy, and college of medicine.
Instead of spending the money to upgrade our Polytechnics as intended in their inception, these fools without vision and foresight are messing up our education once again as JJ Rawlings did in the 90s. Tweeeaaaaa, what a bunch of losers!!!

Hopefully, this NDC brand would listen to the Professor. It is the same way they poorly implemented the JSS system. There were no books, workshops, teachers and other resources. Contrary to the advice to the then NDC by seasoned educators and stakeholders, they went ahead and implemented it. Our educational system has never been better. Rural communities were asked to build workshops when they had no clue as to what to do. Once again, they are up to their diabolical plan, to collapse Ghana's educational system. Consider the products of our Universities these days, even hoe journalists write poor English. I know the NDC government would not listen for that is their nature.

If our leaders can differenciate needs from wants this nation wouldn't have gone through these hardship and a dangling economy. Lovers of our nation let us put our political interest aside and deal with real issues. We all buy, travel, pay utility bills, the "dum so" is not discriminatory, we are all feeling the defficulty in the nation. Brothers reading from me answer me will you borrow money and pay interest while some people owe you enough that can be collected and used for you to get a change. I mean why should we go for bail out while people owe this nation a huge amount of money. There is no chalk and has not yet been solved, what problem has the polythecnics for it to be changed to Universities. I think that we as Ghanaians need quality but not quantity. Our leaders must sit up and take citizens serious. I will also plead that we should say our opinions even if we disagree and stop the insults, and be factual.

The general statement that Polytechnics in the Country would be turned into Universities does not make Sense.(Because it's just like an attempt to Turn the Middle-class in Society to Upper-Class,in a twinkle of an eye. And Imagine a Country without a Middle-class !
So,first we have to know the Purpose of Poly Education. Reasons, and the Difference between the two,the Necessity for Change,if any.And the need for each of them in Nation Building, before the Decision to turn Polytechnics into Universities could be considered. In absence of the above reasoning etc, I can bet my bottom / last dollar that, authorities may not have a well thought through analysis to know what they talk about, and if care is not taken, may create far below standards education levels.Again,do not get confused and excited with the word -“University" . Because, I don't think every higher level of a any Course one can think off, should have to be a 4 year(Uni Degree) Course. And it does not follow that a Degree holder should always earn more than a Diploma/Certificate holder, depending on the kind of Course, anyway. Therefore, the Common Sense approach,is to Upgrade some of the Courses at the Polytechnic's to a Degree level. And not unnecessarily to Turn All Polytechnic's to Universities.I do not think the Nation has the Funds for out of the Blues ambition/ambitious plans.Authorities should Note that they should build the Nation on Common Sense approach, to save Costs, and for what is implemented to stand the test of time, and not on the moronic idea of, oh, it's Party A or B which did this or that ! Because ,we build the Country for the present and posterity. In hindsight, we are witnesses to such changes when Party A implemented a change, only for Party B to reverse it,for Party A to re-introduced it again; forth and back.Meanwhile,Party B is waiting in anticipation to reciprocate. Are the leaderships Serious in Ghana ! Rather,Consider to create jobs in accordance with your plans,or national goal to absorb graduates. (school leavers),and not production of School Leavers without any plans to employment opportunities. That is the way forward !
