It is wrong for teachers and Doctors to refer students and patients to their private services. Doctors can refer patients to other Doctors who are specialists because most Doctors in Ghana are Family Practitioners.

Bishop Asare should also have tried to find out why some teachers and other government workers go around it the crooked way.
I know of a lady who went for further studies at Cape Coast University and has not been paid for two years since graduation. How do you expect such teachers to survive? They all go to the same market with other workers. Wherever the teacher or the Doctor goes for services now, the one has to pay extra. Do you blame them if they also charge to survive?
Did Asare talk about our corrupt politicians and government appointees with their overblown egos? I don't think that if teachers are paid and given half the conditions of service of politicians and on time, many will care for special classes.
Even among the clergy, there is a lot of KULUULU with many not seeing, hearing and talking about anything evil so long as they get satisfied. Does he know how people at his church get money to pay the tithes and other levies they impose on congregations? How many of them are told lies and threatened with hell if they do not pay their tithes and etc?

Look at their conditions of work! Why don't you criticise the gov't for not treating them well? If they don't get paid on time, how do you expect them to care for themselves and their families? If their salaries are inadequate, how should they make up for the difference?

John is himself the number one thief, so how can he discipline thieves. He has to steal to look after his 23 or so children. Therefore all hands on deck. All appointees must must take whatever they can grab. This man is simply unfit to be president.

Ghana will definitely be better off without John Mahama. The monies being given to our very stupid chiefs is stolen money. it is monies that should go to repair our roads.

NDC so-called politicians should stop being selfish, deceitful, dishonesty,
cocaine trafficking, incompetency, lies, empty promises and total economical instability.

NDC should end their selfishness, dumso-dumsor, rape in our country and focus on the nation building than serving a political party, again NDC if is a political party with great integrity, should be content what is
on their payslip and stop stealing
the State funds paid by the Tax payers
for the sake of national building and ensure our country's cake is not to be used for NDC individual crooks for their own selfish interest.

Can Agyin Asare tell the whole world how he came by his church's headquarters, including the land on which the word miracle church is built? What happened to the Meat Marketing Board headquarters & Willowbrook? Who gave him that land? Did he pay fair compensation to the state? He who calls for equity must come with clean hands! In any civilized society, most of our so called 'men of god' will be languishing in jail. Don't annoy us!

When it comes to corrupt practices,we should make zero exemptions. I will exempt teachers not for the excuses you gave but rather teachers do not take Hippocratic oath and above all do not literally control people's life and death situations or well-being.
Why do we always try to justify one corrupt Ghanaian professional's misconduct or behavior to that of a politician as if politicians are the only ones who should be wagging war on corruption? We always point accusatory finger at others without accepting the fact that we are all contributors to the societal ills.

Let me seize this opportunity to juggle your memory that, not even in the so called western world where we both reside gets it right in providing leadership all the time. Sometimes,it is the masses who take the leadership role whilst dragging the politicians along.
I don't have any problem with a teacher organizing extra classes for kids. That is an acceptable practice in most parts of the world especially when we all want to give our children that extra edge in their academic work. Doctors on the other hand are next to God in terms of having control over peoples lives and well-being. I hope you do know what I mean. That is why doctors,police and some other professionals are classified "essential" and not allowed to go on strike in some advance countries. Trust me bro, we cannot afford to justify corrupt practices by any professional by comparing them to politicians. If we keep on making excuses for political parties,professional bodies, brothers, uncles,dads,moms etc we will soon have nobody left to criticize.

Irrespective of my disagreement with you on this topic, my respect for you is immense simply because,you behave in a gentlemanly manner on this forum.

But my point is:

ARE THEY BEING PAID WELL BY THE GOVERNMENT TOO?

The Bishop should also be real here.
He doesn't have to blast these professionals in the presence of the president,to appear they are also good.
THAT'S AMOUNTS TO HYPOCRISY.
He should be plain and tell the president,in front of the whole congregation that his politicians must stop their bribery and corruption,as well.
THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A TOTAL BALANCE HERE.
But he attacked the professionals alone.

Everyone must do their best for nation building. Thank you for your voice on the country's matters. I think we all, including Reverends, government and individuals must welcome this as positive criticism and determine to CHANGE for the better to help our future leaders yet to come, so that they do not suffer because of poor management from both people in authorities and individuals own deeds. I also think that this system will be so robust in such away that individual who are found of making 'nasty' comment and politicised and attribute burning issues to political parties will be blogged automatically. What did the Minister tell the President about the lack of equipment to work within the government hospitals? If there is no thermometer in a government hospital to take a patient's temperature and there is one in the Doctor's hospital, should the doctor ask the patient to go his private clinic to get the services of the thermometer or you expect the Doctor to carry the instrument to the government hospital?

Please, Reverend, no professional doctor will misdiagnose a patient because he wants to get more money from the patient, unless you are telling me you know the right diagnosis better than the Doctor. Doctors are not magicians to see a patient a know exactly what is wrong. The diagnosis is based on signs and symptoms.
Using the same yard-stick for you, why won't your Church, Action Faith Ministries and all the other churches have one Church? Think on these things in your closet and ask yourself whether you think you did not offend God by willfully and wrongfully accusing the Doctors, in the face of bigger challenges staring you in the face. Note, no human being can monopolize God and God cannot be manipulated.

The foundation laid by government is so weak that state owned hospital doctors have become part of the corruption system in the country. Those qualified as doctors are using the state equipped hospitals to do their private business and nobody is checking them. They open shabby clinics as hospitals and after taking large sums of money refer you to the government hospitals where they actually work and use the equipment to treat you. This is corruption. No private hospital should be allowed to operate if it is not fully equipped. Then we can be proud of their institutions. They have to compete with the government establishment for quality and standard. But government guidelines are weak and easily abused by these clinics. A doctor found to be running a separate clinic at the same time working in state owned hospitals must loose his license for a period of time as he has abused his office. Check these corrupt doctors who have no love for the work but money

We did not get there in the last 10 years. Even in the good old days, when Ghana was Ghana, we had corrupt officials. We pretended it was no problem.Those officials have now graduated into fearful corrupt citizens. Corrupt People are the first to cry out about corruption.

We create problems and blame our government for the problem(s). We cheat and think that it is the other person's fault and not of their making. We insult the Head of State, call him all sorts of names thinking that it is all in the name of democracy.

What a nation of pretenders!!!!!!!!!

Man of God the last time I checked Mahama administration gave you a land cruiser as a gift at the expense of poor tax payers. If I were you I bow my head down in shame. Pls give us a break because you what you are getting from Mahama administration.
